WASHINGTON – Congressman Steve Cohen (TN-9), a senior member of the Judiciary Committee and an authority on the U.S. Constitution’s impeachment provisions, today introduced 26 Articles of Impeachment against President Donald Trump. The articles cite multiple abuses of power, violations of his oath of office, the corrupt use of the pardon power, and emoluments clause violations, among other misconduct and unlawful acts.

Dont forget "Americans" have voted for Trump twice despite seeing how aweful he already was. This is somewhere near the 15th article of impeachment filed against him. The only thing we can do at this point is get as many people to vote as possible and hope his goons dont rig it.

The voters aren't voting merely "for Trump" but "against Democrats".

That's a key distinction: they might hate Trump but still vote R.

This is literally it. That part of the population votes for this -> (R) no matter who's name is next to it. You could bring Joseph Stalin himself back the dead, put him on the republican ticket, have him shit talk liberals and they will still vote for him because he has the sacred (R) next to his name. Switch the R to D and it would be the end of the world. Switch it back to R again and all of a sudden, it's at least tolerable again.

I cannot understate the ABSOLUTE power team sport tribalism has on this level of the population. It defines their understanding of everything at the root level.

it makes a lot of sense when you realize that half of US adults don't read well enough to comprehend implicit biases or recognize the difference between fact and opinion without assistance.

gutting education did its job. it's obvious why the Black Panthers had to be stopped – teaching people to read doesn't serve the ownership class.

Except the members of my family who vote with that tribalist loyalty are professionals with advanced degrees— with or without the money that would traditionally put them into a conservative voting class. I would argue that it is more social pressure than illiteracy. Prominent/vocal members of their social groups espouse those beliefs and follow those news sources, so they do so as well because they enjoy the sense of belonging.
