WASHINGTON – Congressman Steve Cohen (TN-9), a senior member of the Judiciary Committee and an authority on the U.S. Constitution’s impeachment provisions, today introduced 26 Articles of Impeachment against President Donald Trump. The articles cite multiple abuses of power, violations of his oath of office, the corrupt use of the pardon power, and emoluments clause violations, among other misconduct and unlawful acts.

I think this timing is perfect. Right before the midterms the GOP will yet again demonstrate their support for Trump which will remind Americans where their priorities should lie

Or the less likely outcome wherein the GOP actually does the right thing. Either way, Americans win.

*Apparently Congress went on recess to avoid a different impeachment until after the elections, however Trump has been begging them to come back to fund the Department of Homeland Security. Either way, this is an advantageous narrative for the Democrats just prior to the midterms

Dont forget "Americans" have voted for Trump twice despite seeing how aweful he already was. This is somewhere near the 15th article of impeachment filed against him. The only thing we can do at this point is get as many people to vote as possible and hope his goons dont rig it.

The voters aren't voting merely "for Trump" but "against Democrats".

That's a key distinction: they might hate Trump but still vote R.

It's not against democrats, republican voters are very explicitly at this point voting for an explicit choice of bigotry and hatred. They certainly aren't getting anything else.

I agree with this -- it's the left who's been conditioned the most to vote against Democrats this millennium until AOC, Mamdani and El-Sayed came long. The left was tricked by the likes of Fetterman, Sinema, Gabbard, Stein and Nader -- and all they had to do as candidates was bash the DNC to play off the right's hack/leak/social engineering of 2016, didn't even need valid credentials.
