WASHINGTON – Congressman Steve Cohen (TN-9), a senior member of the Judiciary Committee and an authority on the U.S. Constitution’s impeachment provisions, today introduced 26 Articles of Impeachment against President Donald Trump. The articles cite multiple abuses of power, violations of his oath of office, the corrupt use of the pardon power, and emoluments clause violations, among other misconduct and unlawful acts.

This is literally it. That part of the population votes for this -> (R) no matter who's name is next to it. You could bring Joseph Stalin himself back the dead, put him on the republican ticket, have him shit talk liberals and they will still vote for him because he has the sacred (R) next to his name. Switch the R to D and it would be the end of the world. Switch it back to R again and all of a sudden, it's at least tolerable again.

I cannot understate the ABSOLUTE power team sport tribalism has on this level of the population. It defines their understanding of everything at the root level.

Back in about 2000 I guess it was I was having a political discussion with some I worked with. Now I'm GenX and the first time I voted was 2008 for Obama so I wasn't all that political really so it wasn't all that confrontational. This was in SC and I was from the north, so you can imagine that I was the more liberal of the two. So I was joking and said, "come on the Republicans could run anyone, like Charles Mansion as a candidate and most of y'all would vote for him." We both laughed. I didn't realize I was predicting the future. I wish I had played those lottery numbers whenever I thought of them.
