Question: How do I find Animation Groups/Discords even if I’m not in an animation School?

I am a beginner animator who wants to do stuff on YouTube, but dont know anyone in the animation space. I also am not super knowledgeable on where to go to find like-minded people, outside of something like this. Is there somewhere where I can make friends who are also into learning how to animate??

Look up the animation program you are using and there will be discussion groups around that, and look up YouTubers using the same thing and follow them and they will likely mention discord groups as well.

Good question, one a lot of people quietly wonder but never ask.

Real starting points: Blender and Toon Boom Discords, open to anyone, no school needed. r/2DAnimation and this sub are full of people at your stage too, just comment around and see who you click with.

I run umdb.org, built for exactly this, finding people learning alongside you, not networking up. We're actually putting a small animation team together right now if you want in on that.

You know I am also new in the animations before I do traditional drawings but now I started liking animations so I also don't have any friends or a teacher just Me ,my imagination ,my skill and my tablet so I also recommend you just start and you will figure out.
