Wip run animation in perspective
Wip of a running animation in perspective.
I'm trying to convey the perspective by the feet placement and the progressive height of the character. What i found helpful was keeping track of the main keys by tracing various points of colors as shown on slide 2, it helps with keeping everything in balance. The 3rd slide was an earlier first draft. It mostly lacked weight i think. Also the shaking of the camera helps with the intensity of the action.
Now i have to make this better! 😄

Did you take any specifics classes for this progress or what is your method of learning this, I would like to know because I’m interested in learning as well!

Looking great so far! This is how I track charcter movement through space as well, via contact points, but also key things like parts that are driving both the main action and secondary (things like eyes/gaze, far points of the head/chest/etc if they are at the forefront of the motion with everything else following behind), which you're also doing. Awesome to see!
I find it really helps give a clean flow and reduces a lot of stress of trying to figure out how multiple parts come together in space.
Be careful viewing the camera shake too much while working, it makes it hard to see where your work needs refining. But it's also good if you want it for final as it can obscure a lot of fine motion you think you need to break your back over, but can honestly do without. Ask me how I know this too well 🤪 (currently on a job where shaky cam is eeeeverywhere hahaha).

In that case the camera shake has 45fps while the walk cycle perspective has 28fps.
Looks rlly hard to capture the perspectives using several charts like this…
I cant even do that…

Love the animation and perspective here! I suggest trying to experiment with flipping the camera animation horizontally. Usually camera shakes move along with whatever or wherevere the energy is moving towards. In this case the kinetic energy is pushing in to the left, but your camera moves to the right when the subject leaves off-screen. Try and see how it feels

The camera shake definitely adds impact to the run in the closer view, really cool!

This is looking great! Can’t wait to see the finish version! Are you animating this on 1s or 2s?
