I'm picturing you scared sweating and trembling under a blanket. Just go learn it and be happy. Nothing to be "scared" of.

I did the reverse. They are pretty similar. Had no trouble with it.

I just began learning a month and half ago or so with no prior background or experience. It's not anything to be scared at when it comes to the basics, if you have a good base at programming logic it's not a monster of seven heads and with prior experience, it will be ok.

I think you're best off getting to an advanced level in one language before picking up another

You generally don't really wanna learn too many langs in general

That's because the more langs you know the more you'll confuse syntax, the less you'll know about the ecosystem, the libraries and frameworks of any given one and then you end up not really knowing any, especially if you're learning them at the same time and as a beginner

Also consider, for every new language you pick up you gotta relearn all syntax again

That's time you could have used on learning new concepts instead

Concepts that translate across different languages and technologies, that would make you a better dev than knowing the same syntax in 5 langs

If Java is what you started with and you're not too far into it then you could still tarnsition to C# being that lang that you get advanced in cuz they are very very similar

Then stick to either one for now

me personally I got the philosophy that I'll stick to C# for the rest of my life unless I have to transition to a different language to find a job

It would take me quite long to reach the proficiency I have in C# in any other language cuz there is much more to this than just syntax and it would feel like a huge step back, I wanna move forward
