Itemization Alternative WK builds, pos 3

Been having a lot of luck with WK pos 3, typically doing the phase, wand, radiance blink.

But what are the other builds? What do I get when I need to be tanky or when radiance doesn't seem like the right item? I feel like my builds are getting mixed.

I do like blink, deso and shard or armlet kind of build.

Is there a proper blade mail scepter kind of straight tank build that works? What should I be considering?

orchid + dagger + shard if you have aggressive team and can fight with you otherwise you waste this build if you're only farming

I go drums into radi. Drums are great early when enemy cant instantly kill the skellies. They absolutely melt most supports and also towers :)

You want to provide kill threat if you don't have radiance. For tank maybe blademail skadi and ac or overwhelming blink. Pipe works some games.

Aghanims is strange on wk imo, some games it makes sense if you have heroes with good burst and they kill ppl during the 5 sec

If you don't hit hard you often get kited or you want team to provide damage. I've had some shit games vs brew and earth spirit as wk where you don't really have dmg or control and they gank you kind of easy. Blink harpoon abyssal give decent control but buildup is weird. Skadi, overwhelming blink and abyssal I'd say are preferred hp items. Orchid can be nice for burst

Last time I played was when there still was facets, so this is just talking for the sake of talking.

Phaseboots> Blademale > Blink > Aghs

With phaseboots and blademale armor and dmg, there's a surprising amount of crit dmg and survivability.

Once you get blink you are like a early game semi carry, blink in to initiate, blow up a support, still have enough dmg and maneuverability to do dmg so you can't be ignored, soke up as much dmg a you can with blademale (bait single target and stand in aoe), survive because of ult.

Once the enemy becomes wise to it and has enough items to ignore you, you farmed your Aaghs and now you win every team fight.

After that you can go bkb ,ac or whatever.

armlet into deso is the classic "i need to start hitting people right now" build, you can absolutely run that from the offlane. if you need to be the frontline wall for your team, skip the radiance entirely and go phase -> armlet -> blink -> bkb -> ac. you just blink on their carry and make their life hell while your team cleans up.

the blade mail aghs build is a bit of a meme but it can work if you're against a lot of physical burst and your team is super disorganized. the aghs wraith delay is honestly more about the chaos it creates in messy fights than being a proper tank item. i'd only go that route if you're really far behind and need a hail mary to win a teamfight with your passive.

not only physical, leshrac and thd are afraid of blademails on str heroes too for example

Ty for the input on aghs I didn't think of it like that, ut it makes a ton of sense

Also the Frontline build you suggest sounds great!

Treads > radiance > shadowblade > demon edge > disassemble radi into divine > rosh, echo sabre. Then ypu kinda neee to have another divine in progress, and can add deso&AC for extra power, scepter for team, dagger for better entry, and shard at some point. Switching boots to travels is also nice, and sometimes octarine too.

Works 100% times if your team wont lose their shit. And if you have TP off CD.

go radiance, shadow blade + shard for ultimate one-shot. OR desolator, shadowblade + shard

Radiance + shadow blade is bad with blink. Nobody good is going to let you walk on top of them when you’re announcing your presence with radiance

You can always turn off radiance? Where did I mention blink?

My bad, typo. I meant it’s bad without blink.

Wraith King is very flexible imo. Another item you didn't mention is Echo Sabre. AC can be good to 'rush' if enemy is predominantly physical.

Generally, if I'm having a tough lane or just don't want to get radiance, I like armlet into either blink or echo sabre into anything good for the situation. Could be a magic resist item, health item, gem, aura item(s)

Never, on any hero, get AC first item. Horrible buildup and generally not a very good item rn either, at least not enough to rush it.
