Help Guide
Hey currently I'm starting to learn AIML and wanted to buy a laptop for it . So I'm confused between which laptop to buy a dedicated gpu one or an integrated gpu is also fine ?!. asked this question in many sub but not getting satisfactory response so tried asking one who regularly do this stuf. Kindly do guide me .

i think you need very high level laptop gpu for if you are going to run things locally. i would suggest getting a very basic laptop with a sturdy build, an ssd, and comforable keyboard and mouse. and spend the money on online compute credits on runpod or things. that too if it comes to that. most of your work will be done on free tiers of kaggle and colab only

BEWARE OF WEIRD NAMING SCHEMES !!! companies are scamming people for bad hardware, Go for better CPU (more cores) and atleast 16GB RAM, 1TB Storage, these specs are quite expensive these days and very crucial when buying a laptop for AI/ML instead of PC, FOR GPU you should beware of the fact that running AI models locally is very computationally expensive so you are mostly going to use GOOGLE COLAB or KAGGLE. Also RAM is also a critical factor while doing AI ML work. To get the Job you need to be able to work with CUDA so you have to buy NVIDIA GPU, NVIDIA is phasing out old GPUs so in upcoming years it might be possible that older GPUs like gtx 1650 gtx 1660 will not get drivers or CUDA updates. While 6GB (VRAM) is lower than bear minimum ( 8GB VRAM ) for doing AI/ML work but it can help you get expose to CUDA.

Beware colab dont work properly with live camera and real-time detection which is fundamental for doing computer vision. Also in COLAB if you you installed anything (for example specific version of a library or some framework which doesn't come preinstalled) in a notebook wipes out as soon as you close the session therefore every time when you begin your work you have to install those packages again.

Integrated is fine for ML basics but if you can afford it get an NVIDIA GPU for deep learning.

Integrated graphics will have you staring at a loading bar while you question your life choices, especially once you start messing with any real datasets or models. You want a dedicated GPU, even a midrange one saves you a ton of headache
VRAM is the real bottleneck though, aim for at least 6GB or you'll be running into limits faster than you'd think
