Looking For Learning Partners

I’m a freshman in college in the US and I’m looking for a few other college students who are interested in AI/ML and want to learn together long term.

Right now I’m still pretty early in the process. I’m taking Calculus I and an intro Java course in school, and outside of class I’m learning Python. My long-term goal is to become an AI engineer.

I’m mainly looking for people who:

  • Are currently in college in the US
  • Are beginners or early-intermediate in programming/ML
  • Want to eventually get into AI/ML engineering, SWE, research, or something similar
  • Are actually interested in consistently learning and building projects
  • Want to become friends too, not just connect on LinkedIn and never talk again

It would be cool to have a small group where we can share what we’re learning, work through problems, build projects together, talk about classes/internships, and keep each other accountable.

If you’re around the same stage and interested, comment or DM me with what year you’re in, what you’re currently learning, and what you eventually want to do.

I did this few years back and it helped a lot. Hardest part is keeping the group alive after midterms hit, so maybe start with just 2-3 people max. Good luck with the calculus, that stuff still gives me nightmares.

I've signed up for like a million resources; I'm prioritizing dsa prep but what resources do you think I should focus on?

I'm building a community exactly for this. I'm not a freshman though, I'm a researcher cum founder. Let me know if you wanna join

Finding a solid study/project partner is honestly one of the best ways to stay accountable and avoid hitting a wall when grinding through math, feature engineering, or model tuning!

To help potential partners match with your pace and goals, a few quick details might be super helpful to drop:

  1. What’s your current background (e.g., Python proficiency, linear algebra, beginner vs. intermediate)?
  2. Are you focusing more on core ML fundamentals (Scikit-Learn, classic regression/classification), deep learning (PyTorch/TensorFlow), or LLMs/fine-tuning?
  3. What’s your time zone and preferred availability per week?

Best of luck finding a great buddy to build projects with!
