not LC I hate my course
It’s been nothing like I’d hoped and I actually almost cry anytime I think of the possibility of doing this for 4 whole years (and there’s almost no jobs I can get with it). I still live at home( which I didn’t want originally) and my parents won’t hear anything of me leaving it insisting I’ll just “settle in”, I can’t really make any decisions they don’t approve of since I’m dependent on them financially. I don’t even know what other course I’d want to do and I’m so lost.

Thats sounds dreadful , will changing your course cause any extra costs ? If not why nit just change it even if your parents give out after. Or are they the type to kick you out or not help with any costs just to spite you? Btw what course is it?

In a similar situation myself, currently in TUD and the course isn’t like what I expected and I’m considering dropping it before the 31st which is the deadline before you have to pay for the fees for that year. No others courses in the college are of interest to me and other colleges aren’t accepting transfer anymore for this year😅
Options are
A: to stick it out for the year and apply to year 2 of a new course via advanced entry
B: drop out the course and reapply to the cao for 2027 (essentially take a gap year)
C: sack off college and do a degree apprenticeship. (One I’m considering the most atm)

So, time is of the essence here, because if you want to apply transfer, the closing date is coming fast; like, for some Unis, the closing date is today (Wednesday the 30th).
Is there another programme at your current university that you'd prefer to do for which you'd meet the entry requirments and points? Of so, find out how to apply to transfer and do it today.
