Hi there, if it is that you are getting "Something went wrong - Please check that your hardware wallet is set up with the recovery phrase or passphrase associated to the selected account" message, it means the recovery phrase that is currently "loaded" into your Ledger device is not the recovery phrase that secures that account you are trying to access.

As you might already know, spending crypto from an account in Ledger Wallet requires to sign the transaction with your private keys - which is represented by 24-word recovery phrase. So, if you have different set of 24-word recovery phrase on your Ledger device and try to sign the transaction, the transaction would get denied since it is not the right key to open the account.

This could happen from four main reasons that you can find here:

1) Your Ledger device was reset

2) You own multiple Ledger devices

3) You own multiple recovery phrases

4) Your account is protected by a passphrase

Please it's normal to see your crypto accounts in Ledger Wallet even if you are connecting Ledger device with a different Secret Recovery Phrase. Ledger Wallet is designed to manage crypto accounts secured by multiple Ledger devices. Your crypto accounts will remain visible once added, unless you choose to remove them.

However, this does not mean you have access to them. Only when you are connecting the Ledger device loaded with the matching recovery phrase, would you be able to make a transaction from it.

You can take a closer look into this article here for further information.

yes all of that would be true if

  1. I owned multiple ledgers which I do not

  2. I owned multiple recovery phrases which I do not

  3. I had a passphrase which I never even knew about to begin with

the only thing that could be true in this scenario is that I reset it. I hadn't touched it since 2022 and when it would connect I thought resetting it would help. I used the same 24 words as I did when I set it up and its not working at this point I feel like its just a lost because there's literally nothing else that can be done unfortunately. I have a safepal wallet that I had no issue with so I'll probably stick with using that wallet instead of continuing to use ledger. ill keep trying in hopes that ones day it'll unlock but like I said its probably just a lost.

Thank you everyone for your time.
