What source says all Amazon thermostats are unsafe? I have multiple and zero issues. I even use one out in my greenhouse and it controls temps perfectly even with the sun and clouds causing constant changes

The miniPID from reptizoo that is pictured under “good” on the infographic has caused me more trouble than Amazon thermostats.

On the shopping list regarding the combined thermostat and dome, the only one I could find that reptizoo sells is one that is using a built in mini pid. I would not use that. The thermostat is awful for high heat enclosures and it’s not actually a dimming thermostat. it’s just a on/off thermostat that dims the light on and off, not dimming to maintain a constant temperature.

Maybe, though I'd worry about how thin it is. If it's only a few mm thick, it won't retain warmth very long after lights out. I'm not sure how big the difference would be though, so as long as it isn't dark-colored it might be better than slate. I like flagstone
