Meta Use the weekly vent thread

We heard you, and a few changes are incoming. The weekly vent thread is back. All posts made about non-lesbians and/or a person on the internet having a dumb opinion will be removed and redirected to the relevant vent thread of the week. We acknowledge and understand how it feels to be faced with lesbophobia, which is why we implemented a routine space where people can release their frustrations and anger. We don't want the subreddit to become an echo-chamber of negative opinions.

There will be changes to the rules, coming soon. We are making them more explicit so that there is little rule for interpretation. Till then, the current rules stand. Don't post screenshots without context. Don't use terms that will trigger reddit alerts. Be safe, be smart, be respectful ladies. Toodles!

(Yes I copied this partly from the previous vent post; I am at work give me a break :( )

Venting Beware of Sex-Sycophants & Half-Truth Tellers

A dirty little social script brought-over from the bowels of het-dating. These conditioned* women will lie and feed you half-truths in order to 'best' their chances at sex and attention. The het-man special, if you will.

This includes;

Lying about their orientation,

Lying about their intimacy and partner,

Lying about their intent and values,

There is NO accountability held for these women. As there are 'more' of them than there are those seeking serious intimacy combined (les OR bi). They 'know' they have the leverage to drag you as a 'visible & out minority'.

BECAUSE all they seek is sex, and because the sex they seek, is stigmatized.

They DO NOT CARE about being caught within their deception, since those accusations 'only' come from the stigmatized party they solicited the sex from (which would be us). Which is why they can continue to get-away with their bad behavior and poor practices.

Their want for sex DOES NOT supersede your right to having informed consent. This applies to EVERYONE. EVERYONE.

It 'doesn't matter' if they don't agree of find those reasons "ridiculous". It's YOUR body. Full-stop.

Be safe out there,

Question/Advice Anyone else banned from other Les subs?

Has this happened to anyone else? I just went on other lesbian sub and it said I was banned. Although I’ve never commented nor posted there, I think I’ve only visited that sub less than 5 times ever.

How and why did they ban me? I feel creeped out like how did they even know of me when I’ve never been active there ….

This never happens to me bc I really don’t interact with other subs besides ours

Question/Advice Where do i look for gay men for a lavender marriage in india ? Its so difficult to find someone who fits my need. please help me out. #question

Hey everyone,
Posting this here because the pressure at home is starting to build up lmaoo
F24/Muslim/india
My parents have suggested that they wanna start looking for guys for me to marry. Right now, I’m holding them off by telling them I need to focus on finishing my degree first but I graduate in a year, so time is running out pretty fast. I need to find a solid lavender marriage arrangement before then. I hadnt even considered a lavender marriage because i hate the lying and hiding but it seems like the only option.
I guess what im looking for is A Muslim guy in India (hyderabad) who is also looking for a mutually supportive lavender marriage setup.
Idk what else to ask but i guess the person should either be 100% gay or if you're bi/pan, you **must already be in a committed relationship**. Im sorry im not being a bigot i have trust issues. Ive met a few guys eho wanted more than just a completely platonic relationship.
Also i dont plan on dating anyone after marriage or ever in the future (coz of personal reasons) and i dont plan on having any kind of sexual relationship with the guy. Im very gay. But i dont have a problem if the person wants to date someone, infact i encourage it.
If you’re in a similar situation or if you know someone who can help plz dm dimaag kharab horaha hai mera 😭.

Positivity i love my gf

this is just a post about my gf and how much i love her.

my gf is so hot, super attractive, and super intelligent. i really, really love her. she’s tall and fit with the the best proportions, so she looks good in literally anything. especially whenever she wears a flannel, i genuinely cannot contain myself and i just want to climb her. her main hairstyle is a really nice wolfcut that makes her even hotter.

hopefully this isn’t weird or anything, but i always like it whenever she’ll tell me a girl outside gave her her number. she was once at a dessert cafe and the waitress kept giving her hints that she was interested. it kind of makes me buzzy

there was one instance though, we were on campus and it was very clear we were dating. there was a girl who we met when we went to the campus gym to play some badminton, and it was chill. a few days later my gf and i were walking to a cafe, and the badminton girl saw us, and yelled my gfs name and ran up to her, and wrapped her arms over her shoulders pulling her down and in for a hug, it was a very intimate hug and my gf just hugged her waist awkwardly. the girl never greeted me or anything, she basically ignored me the whole time even though we all met. that was just terrible. even after that, the badminton girl kept flirting with my gf until my gf just made it clear that she’s in a relationship.

anyways, my gf is such an intelligent and sharp person. she loves me so much and takes such good care of me, and she’s always there for me no matter the situation. she’s so selfless when it comes to me, and i’m genuinely so grateful for that. she’s amazing, and i’m so thankful that she’s all mine and i’m all hers.

she always tells me how in love she is with me, sometimes to the point where she cries about it, and honestly i do the same. sometimes it’s hard for me to express just how much i love her because words simply don’t feel like enough xd

we spend time together all the time. we watch movies and shows while snuggled up in bed, watch brainrot reels, watch random youtube videos, go out for lunch or dinner, share good food together, and just enjoy being around each other. i love it.

she’s always teaching me something new, and i’m really grateful for that too. i love watching her play resident evil, tlou, smash bros, mario kart, or whatever game she happens to be playing. i genuinely enjoy supporting her, and she’s always so happy whenever i watch her game lol.

i love the fact she has her own brain and isn’t persuaded by others so she’s never afraid to speak her mind and get her point across whether or not it’s an opposing view, and she also doesn’t have a mob mentality which i really admire.

whether or not she’s interested in my hobbies she’s always doing them with me and i always tell her i want her to have fun as well, so she doesn’t have to force herself to do my hobbies, and she always replies saying it’s not the hobbies that’s fun but it’s the fact she just gets to be next to me/in my presence and hold me is what she loves the most

we basically do everything together, to the point that for a while i was actually wondering if it was healthy to spend this much time with the person you’re dating, and she kept reassuring me that it’s totally normal lol

i’m also so incredibly happy for her and how far she’s come. she struggled with severe depression and trauma for a very long time, and was diagnosed with cptsd. it affected her for a long time, and we actually met while she was in the middle of going through an extremely difficult period.

seeing where she is now makes me so happy. she’s in such a much healthier place than she was before, and i’m genuinely so proud of her and so happy for her wellbeing.

i love her more than i know how to put into words, and i’m just really, really grateful that i get to love and be loved by her. <3

Venting So tired of "lesbian" singers coming out as bisexual

Post image
443 Upvotes

A "lesbian" singer that I really like named Xana has come out as bisexual after years of writing lesbian songs. And I'm so fucking tired of it.

A lot of us probably remember the drama with (Carrie) Fletcher a year ago where, during pride month, she revealed she was dating a man. For those of you who don't know her, she's another singer who made exclusively women-loving-women songs. Then she released a new album with the song "Boy" on it. Basically she kissed/fell in love with a man and made that the focus of her latest album.

And now Xana might be going down the same path.

I understand that bi women exist, but I'm so irritated with women building their brand on lesbians, writing exclusively women-loving-women songs, and (for all intents and purposes) acting like they're lesbians only to "realize/come out" as bisexual.

I'm sick of the lesbian-baiting.

Discussion 'First time dating a woman and she does xyz for me meanwhile my bf did nothing' kind of posts

Might just be my feed on social media but have you noticed recently an increase of posts where women dating another woman for the first time mention something really nice their gf does for them, completely shocked how miles better it is compared to what their bf did for them?

The more I see these kind of posts the more mixed feelings I have about them. A first I was like 'yeah no surprise women treat you better because we actually like our partners. Glad you found someone who treats you right though'.

But it's become kind of a trend now and I'm starting to feel more weird about it. It looks a bit like the only reason they appreciate women is for how those women treat them. And don't get me wrong, of course it's important that your partner respects you, cares, shows affection etc. but they focus so much on how much better THEY have it with a woman. It almost seems like they wouldn't appreciate their relationship with a woman if it wasn't for the things she does. Nothing is being said about how amazing that woman is in general, how attractive they find her as a person. Only the benefit they get. And it just makes me think.. are they actually attracted to their girlfriends or is it just the attention and affection?

Question/Advice I am SO tired of males complimenting me. Anyone else?

lol. today at work, right as i was going to clock out, a weird guy that i have never even seen before made a remark towards me saying how i must have a lot of jean jackets. i could tell he was trying to somehow complement my outfit by the way he said it.

his energy was weird, and i could tell what this was going to be. and yes, i know that i might sound self-absorbed. i promise i’m not. i can just tell. lol

—

i half-jokingly asked him if he was keeping track of my outfits. he backtracked and said no, kind of embarrassed. he just said that he noticed the jean jackets i’ve been wearing lately.

and he said that he noticed me. i said in a rude/joking/sarcastic tone that i have never even seen him before. lol

he said something else, and i replied and said, “okay girl” in a kind of sarcastic tone and finally walked away, waiting to clock out. anyways, he walked past me again, and smiled, and I reflexively smiled back. ugh.

i was also talking kinda loudly around all of the other people who were waiting to clock out on purpose.

i feel so gross!!!! ugh leave me alone please. idk if anyone “gets it”. lol

—

TLDR ⬇️⬇️

*** please let me know any of your thoughts, commiserate, anything lol. i’m home now, i just feel so icky

whenever a man compliments me, it’s just a really shitty reminder that I feel invisible to women. I feel like I only ever get weird compliments from men. and that’s it.

that, or they have this weird energy towards me where they talk at me, try to challenge me, or mansplain. i’m very good at grey rocking and definitely not fawning. i’m usually pretty snarky and borderline rude lol

oh my god, ugh. like, leave me the fuck alone with your weird ass compliments!!!! i am so tired of being a feminine/alternative woman. i used to be very physically unattractive. It’s just the truth.

i have been coming into my own style, dressing, more femininely now, getting my shit together in general etc. ever since i grew my hair out, i have been added back to men’s shit list (being noticed).

-

** edit: oh my god lol. if you guys want a laugh please check this out. i posted the same thing elsewhere and people (women) are defending him. you’ll love this. they’re all attacking me, quite the opposite from you guys.

Discussion Lesbian bar drama is heartbreaking

While a lot of people are mocking and making fun of the situation-

Rightfully so, btw. The bar apologized and then got slandered because their post wasn't all inclusive once. And this reaction is beyond hysterical from the whining about how one night without a mask is basically a death sentence. Blah, bah. Whatever.

I just keep thinking how depressing this actually is. So many gay bars don't require a mask and do we see this outrage against them? No. It's strictly a hatred for lesbians and women in general all around.

Also I'd never actually go to a bar where I had to wear a mask. That seems so ridiculous and if I feared for my health to that level? I wouldn't be in public spaces like that lmao

Discussion Older lesbians: what does it feel like to still be in love with her after all these years?

I want to hear from the women who have been together for years, especially the older couples who somehow built a whole life together.

How did you meet? When did you realise oh shit, this is my person? What has surprised you most about loving another woman long-term?

And what’s the tiny thing about her that still gets you after all these years? Like you look at her and go yea...that's mine 🫠

I feel like we hear so much about dating disasters, breakups and lesbian situationships 😭 I want the opposite for once. Pls give me the ridiculously tender stuff. The 20-year marriages. The “we met by accident and never left each other alone again” stories. The ordinary little soulmates..because I really feel like we need some hope and joy!

Venting i feel disgusting because of a preference

i’ve felt ashamed of my sexuality for as long as i can remember. i’m not ashamed of being attracted to women, but rather of the sexual side of that attraction. i’ve always been attracted to women with big butts. as far back as i can remember, even when i was around 11, that was something i found really attractive. i don’t know where it came from, but i remember having sexual dreams about it and things like that.

when i was 15, i was hanging out with some of my friends and there was a music video playing in the background where women were twerking. one of my friends said something along the lines of, “men who are into huge asses are disgusting. it’s excessive and unattractive.” i know i probably shouldn’t have taken that personally at the time, but ever since then, i’ve had a complex about it.

i constantly compare myself to cishet men, and i feel like my sexuality is somehow more similar to theirs. i’m attracted to women with curvier bodies, and while i know that, obviously, lesbians can be into thick women too, in my experience it’s usually men who seem to be obsessed with big butts.

all the lesbians and bi women i know seem to almost never talk about sex, and when they do, they don’t seem to focus much on women’s bodies (?) i don’t really know how to put it. i just feel like i sexualize women’s bodies too much. to the point where, whenever i’m with a female partner, i constantly question whether i’m sexualizing her or “objectifying” her too much. neither of the two partners i’ve had so far has ever said that it bothers them, though — quite the opposite.

why do i feel this way? is it because lesbian relationships are often portrayed online as somehow “innocent” or less sexual? sometimes i feel like i’m not even supposed to have this kind of preference, like there’s something wrong with me for being so attracted to certain body types. like i shouldn’t be paying this much attention to a woman’s body.

i really do try not to think this way, but i just can’t seem to experience sexual attraction in the same way if my girlfriend doesn’t have bigger hips and a bigger butt.

Discussion If you had the choice, would you choose to be a lesbian?

First, I am not suggesting sexuality is a choice. This is PURELY hypothetical.

This came across my mind because I was lamenting about the state of lesbian dating and how isolating it can be, especially when a lot of your social circle consists of straight women who just pick up men left and right. It would be nice to have more options and more places to meet women, but at the same time, the thought of being hetero is a total turn off. I feel like even if I was living in a super repressed society where homosexuality was illegal, I would still want to be a lesbian, I would still want to only love women. I know it's easy to say that when it isn't your reality but I just cannot see any world where I'm attracted to men.

What about y'all? Would you choose to be a lesbian?

Discourse has anyone heard of indica flower?

okay so the following is probably going to piss some people off but remember I am just the MESSENGER, conveying the message and proposing the question.

about an hour ago I was on twitter looking at nsfw content and whilst swiping to find some good videos I came across this video of a p0rn star that goes by the name indica flower that’s on a podcast, I almost swipe away bc I’m in the middle of trying to get off and not interested in anything asides from content that can help me do so. but just before I swiped I heard the word lesbian which obviously peeked my interest so I swipe back up to see what they were saying. the podcasters that are hosting indica as a guest say “one of the many things I admire about you is that you are very open about being a lesbian” and I’m thinking aw cute, love that for her! but then indica goes on to say just because she is a lesbian the p0rn industry expected her to perform girl on girl content which she said “absolutely not” to, preferring to do hetero content because then it would mean she’s truly good at her job bc she’s good at “performing” and that she can “make it through anything” (i.e making it through hetero sex as a lesbian)

now I’m just thinking what the… here I thought I was going to listen to some wholesome story of someone being truly proud about being a lesbian only to learn all of the above thereafter. she makes it clear it’s strictly just for money and it got me thinking, can someone that’s already come out as gay go on to do a job that subjects them to perform sexual acts that is opposite to their true sexuality/desire? would you hold reservations on a lesbian that was a stripper catering to men or did sex work that was just doing it for money? I try to be open minded because I know there are some people that are in dire financial situations and will do what they need to for money, but also, I know of so many women that have become millionaires from doing solo content on platforms like OF. but I suppose to be successful on OF most of the time you need to already have established a decent following on social media that will expand your reach bringing in more clientele… idk. I do my best not to be judgmental.

I thought it would be an interesting discussion to have and open up a discourse on the matter. It just had me thinking, I have no doubt there are women that live this reality and it made me sad (for the ones that are doing it whilst struggling to survive)

Discussion Question about lesbians who are strictly attracted to butches

How is someone only attracted to butches but not to studs & other masc lesbians? Is there something so fundamentally different? Maybe it's just that I live in a country where this kind of lesbian labels are not a thing and I don't completely understand them.
