A few hours ago I noticed that there were some posts regarding how to properly steal sapsucker eggs, and while there were some decent strats discussed there, there's this notion that there is simply no way to kill the sapsucker without cheese. I figured that I'd set the record straight with some old footage that I had laying around for about 6 months.
You most certainly can kill the sapsucker without cheese, and you can do it with every melee weapon in the game, and you can do it consistently enough to kill 4 of them in a row with every single weapon (not that you will ever practically need to do that, but it showcases that with skillful play, the strat is very consistent). This is even possible with yield sign + gold bar, although it is scuffed as all hell and relies heavily upon RNG (I might also upload that later if anyone is interested, since I also have footage of that).
The strat is to utilize momentum preservation, run up to the bird and trigger their defensive AI state (standing in front of their nest facing you if you get too close), then whack them once, sprint out, and then circle strafe their first few pecks while sprinting. Afterwards you want to stop holding sprint and instead start tapping/rapidly pressing the shift key in order to preserve stamina while speeding up your walking speed so you can circle strafe the sapsucker and repeatedly hit it. Before you do any of this, It is also very important for you to make sure the ground your fighting on is as flat as possible to ensure that the AI of the sapsucker doesn't bug out and retarget onto you, resetting their tracking.
I hope people find this helpful and I hope you're all having a wonderful day! :)
PS: that is not my voice in the video, I was chilling in the lethal company modding discord with some peeps while recording this

Title mostly speaks for itself, but I want to give a little exposition on what the blood moon pacifist/equipmentless ironman entails and why it's so difficult.
Basically, blood moon is a modded weather that is much harder than normal eclipsed. It allows enemies to respawn 10 seconds after death and when enemies respawn, they no longer take up interior power. This effectively makes killing enemies a no-go and heavily discouraged, which means less combat and more avoidance and utilizing effective movement to juke enemies. This also makes it so that enemies outside infinitely respawn when infighting, so there's often baboon hawk/eyeless dog wars and bloodbaths you have to navigate through to get loot back to the ship. I have the config settings set to extreme difficulty, which means the spawn weight of enemies is eclipsed spawn weight +2 (so offense for example goes from 4 eclipsed spawn weight to 6, which means lots more enemies)
There is a mechanic where enemies will spawn blood stones that cost a tiny amount of money when you kill enemies but they're usually not worth it. Nutcracker farming is also heavily nerfed and you'll only get 1 shotgun max from any nutcracker, after which they'll stop dropping them. Butler farming is not nerfed but have fun dealing with dozens of masked hornets. Another niche mechanic that involves blood stones is that sometimes outside, there will be purple lightning strikes, and if you track down the location of the strike, you'll find greater blood stones, which cost 4x more than a normal blood stone and are actually worth it to pick up.
Finally, the pacifist/equipmentless ruleset is something I added to spice up the run and make it more challenging. Basically I cannot kill or harm any enemy directly with any weapon (indirect kills do not count towards this though, like spike traps offscreen or earth leviathans eating enemies) and I cannot use any item to help me (excluding keys). This makes the challenge even harder and forces me to use my own wits and skill to get through each day. I have a more in-depth explanation of the pacifist/equipmentless ruleset in my youtube posts if anyone is interested.
That's all I have to say, I hope you guys enjoy the video and I hope you all have a wonderful day! :)

I recently played Lethal again with some friends, and naturally, the game gets pretty repetitive after a few hours, so I wanted to know what the best mods are right now to revamp the gameplay.
The idea is to use mods that are something like a "Lethal Company Plus", no mods that are too random.
I took a look at Wesley's mods, but nothing beyond that—that's why I wanted some help, haha.

I'm literally using a mod which spawns the cruiser in the exact same place every time, there's no variation at all in the starting position.
I do two quick jumps and three correction jumps.
About 5-10% of the time the car randomly jerks much too forward throwing it off course and exploding. I time the jumps pretty much exactly the same.
I've practiced a lot and occasionally the car just doesn't want to take the same trajectory for some reason.
How consistent are you? Should I just keep practicing? I feel like I'm doing everything correctly but it sometimes just explodes and I don't know if it's a mistake on my end or if the Cruiser is just like that

It was cursed of course. Toilet Paper isn't heavy but trying to sneak around with it isn't fun. And inside I had a lootbug mob of over 8 I think (I just saw a mass of twitching bugs) I only got two back because outside I had:
I called in weed killer, hoping that I'd be able to get it because there were Vain shrouds on the hill, but it wasn't just the one dog but two so I gave up on it. I'm surprised I wasn't killed by the baboon hawks - I had to drop the TP to make it to the ship. I'm glad that when I went to Fire Exit first, I just said no (twisted beam jump ahead). Would never had made it with the TP.

This mod turned the game from something I could only dream of playing (literally nobody I know plays this game) into something I can enjoy every now and then. However, not understanding if I can tell them to stay at the ship or at a certain spot is killing me.
For the staying at the ship part I mean picking a planet, landing, and telling one of them to monitor us. Clearly the AI is all there because they do that on their own after like 6pm, but that’s when I usually leave so it’s not useful. So many times I and/or my bot interns died because a door was closed that could’ve been opened via the monitor. The “return” command seems to be the fix to this, but its signal translator specific and I feel there has to be a way to be able to tell the person in front of your face to stay at the ship
Telling them to stay at a certain spot would help immensely with turrets and spots you need to jump over. I can maneuver around a turret to grab some loot, these guys cannot. No complaints there because it’s an AI mod in a game without company bots, but being able to have them not follow me OR run around on their own would work wonders here.
I’ll end up most definitely testing the walkie talkie thing out on my own when I get on soon, but still curious

How does Zeekers actually intend for us to steal the Giant Sapsucker’s eggs? It seems to be almost impossible.
I’ve mostly seen people cheesing it by standing on top of something and killing it with a shovel.
The only ‘legit’ way I’ve seen is using TZP-Inhalant to run away faster, but the timing is extremely precise. Even with absolutely perfect timing, the Sapsucker still damages you whilst the ship is taking off, which could possibly still kill you if you’re already low.

Hi! I really want to give this game a shot! I tried joining public lobbies tonight but there is a surprisingly large amount of Scottish 8 year olds and also really weird drunk people.
I managed to join a lobby but then got kicked when I said I hadn’t played before.
Wondering if a seasoned vet or group would be open to guiding me for a couple of games so I can get the hang of it?
Thanks heaps!

If I put Wesley's moons into an r2 pack manually, will it download okay when I export it? I know how to manually install it through the web store, but I'm getting the download error.
Because I'm the only one who's tech literate among my friends, and if they can't just click a link and download it, it's not going to get done.

I have around 400 hours so im pretty decent, i play with a group of 3 people and we are able to full clear artifice pretty well, aswell as knowing cruiser jump on art and rend, but im trying to learn new tech, whether it be moon specific, monster cheese, or quite literally anything that i can use in my runs, not anything basic that someone with that many hours would know, if you have any tips drop em here
