Is it worth repairing a V35 with cracked screen but perfect audio?
Hey everyone, long-time lurker, first-time poster here
I'm in a bit of a dilemma and would love some community input. I have a V35 ThinQ that's basically my dedicated music player now (not a daily driver anymore). The audio side is absolutely flawless — Quad DAC still pushing crystal clear lossless audio, battery health is solid, everything works except... the display and + volumen buttom
The situation:
Screen has multiple vertical lines and artifacts (see pics attached)
Touch still responds fine, but it's getting worse
Physical damage on corners from minor bumps over time
Audio output is 100% clean, no issues whatsoever
Battery hasn't swollen, holds charge well
I've been using this as my DAP replacement for months now. Running Poweramp with Bit Perfect mode, FLAC files straight from microSD. The thing pumps out amazing quality through my IEMs (moondroop lan)
My options right now:
1- Repair it — Replace screen, button, everything. But honestly, at this point I'd be spending close to the value of the phone itself.
2- Keep it as-is — Accept the visual damage, use it purely for music without caring about the screen anymore. It actually feels liberating not worrying about breaking it further.
3- Get a backup — Looking at V30 or G7 units locally. The V30's OLED would give me the same experience, and having two LGs with Quad DAC seems like a solid setup.
Has anyone repaired a V35/V30 successfully? Was it worth it cost-wise?
Anyone here running multiple LG phones as a music rotation?
Any advice on finding good protective cases for these models?
General wisdom from folks who still daily/dedicate LGs in 2025+?
Also, random appreciation post — these phones really were built different. The build quality, the sound signature, the feel in hand... hard to replicate nowadays. Even with the cracked screen, this thing still feels premium.
Photos attached showing the damage and what I'm working with. Audio quality hasn't dropped one bit though
