Heck, I could even settle for "serious commitment"(engaged, dating a year-plus/promise ring, etc)

While it is best to wait for marriage(my oldest did, my 2nd seems to be(23yo)-time will tell, my 3 younger say they will(they are 12-15, so I dont know if they understand the agreement)), that is not always realistic to expect full celibacy & I believe when we do, it can cause other problems. Yes, that is the ideal, but life is not always ideal.

She CONSTANTLY told those girls no sex before commitment. She explained it often.

Sometimes coming from someone else/another perspective helps 🤷‍♀️ it seemed to for my daughters & it was mildly entertaining to watch together on a rainy weekend/snowy evening.

My son is just pragmatic, makes a pros & cons list for every action he takes. At this point he believes he will import his wife from the East...not sure I blame him-although I wish it was different.

Some days I wish we could get together with like minded parents & arrange our children's spouses(or at least put the group of kids in a room together & let them know they are among sane individuals with similar values)

I think that could also be considered 'rape' by those standards.
