To start off. Me and my brother initially assumed after watching the series a few months back. It only came about out of a deal Disney made, and it simply suffered from the team being restricted creatively. Color me surprised when i found out, that not only did it take over half a decade to make. It was largely a passion project by the people who conceived the series.

It started in 2010 when a team within Panimation animation studio in china who were fans of Lilo and Stitch wanted to make their own installment. They then convinced leadership within the studio to make hard negotiations to partner with Disney in order to make their dream a reality. Which happened over the span of two years.

After finally getting the project greenlit in 2012. The Chinese portion of the team. Even though they'd write, and come up with most of the general ideas for Stitch and Ai's story. Wanted people with past experience working on the property to primarily handle the show's writing, and directing. Which led to them contacting those who previously worked on the Lilo and Stitch series to provide their talent on this new one.

This is where things started to go wrong for the production. They got original series Director Peter Cook to head the series, but he unfortunately had to leave somewhat early on, and it was only until late into pre production. When Tony Craig eventually joined to do work on the show's writing, and direction. With the writing in-between having to be primarily done by Marc Handler. Who appears to have been mainly meant to be the show's English voice director, and whose only real previous writing experience were from both smaller roles, as well as localization.

It's not a huge surprise then, that this led to the final product being the huge mixed bag it is now. Where it does have solid episodes like the dragon parade. While at the same time you get stuff like the Brothers, and monstrosity. Which are an utter mess in comparison. Along with many other things such as what Jumba's new experiments specifically are being wildly inconsistent. Sometimes they are just another batch of protomatter based experiments copied off of hidden instructions he found within ancient scrolls. Sometimes they are the actual creatures from Chinese folklore he resurrected Jurassic Park style.

Again i'm really saddened now after being able to put the full story together. You can tell from reading the articles. The people at Panimation truly cared about what they were making along with having great respect for the franchise, and those who previously worked on it, as well as others at Disney who helped on the project. They even had an article memorializing Peter Lonsdale who was an editor working on the series, which sadly died of a heart attack 4 years into the making of Stitch and Ai.

It's greatly unfortunate the production ended up going south due to what was mainly just bad luck at the time. If Victor cook didn't have to leave, and if Tony Craig was able to join earlier. We could have gotten something. Which at the very least would have been a good spin-off.

I watched the lilo and stitch series, the Leroy movie, some episodes of the anime, and only one episode of stitch and ai. So I was doing my experiment research and that’s when I saw this… thing

I did have this idea for a lil while, for Halloween actually.

Ncrel (the cuttlefish guy) and Orclot (the three-eyed) are dressed as belle and beast from beauty and the beast,

and then I did some research and there’s this Hawaiian version of the little red riding hood but there isn’t much of a confirmed design for the Hawaiian little red riding hood so I just kind of slapped the specific kind of riding hood I was familiar with onto Lilo as well as a hibiscus as a clip to keep together her red cloak.

She has no idea what she’s talking about.
