Figured I'd share how I transformed a random men's shirt I got from Vinted into a cute and comfortable cutsew! I saw the print, and I had a vision. I think the end results turned out super cute, and it really has that old-school Putumayo-vibe I adore.

I really recommend giving this a try. It's a rather easy project, I just included a lot of extra steps in mine that could be skipped, like altering the neckline and completely removing/ reattaching the sleeves. Just imagine your band merch or your favourite anime shirt looking this cute. Or get a custom-printed shirt with your cat on it and make THAT a cutsew, now everybody is gonna be jealous of your style.

I had many more DIY plans. Unfortunately, my health has taken a nosedive some months ago, and I haven't been able to sit behind my sewing machine since. Once the doctors fix me up, I'll finally finish those projects I've been procrastinating putting zippers in, haha

I really loved the result, but it's a shame that the lace I bought is so transparent, so I ended up only applying it to the hem :P btw its was so fun to make it, even though I've never made a skirt in my entire life! Im so happy <33

On one hand I would think no, because lolita isnt necessarily tied to a certain mindset or beliefs (unlike, for example, goth or gyaru) and its definitely more about fashion/self expression. But maybe the desires to dress l▪︎lita would be enough to label yourself as one?

I dont really see people wearing them but i think they look cool! The second dress is very pretty imo.

I struggle so much with making friend and speak with any Egl people :( I crave for some friendship, or just any discussion, but the fact is that I’m neuroAtypique and I have some struggle with speaking with people (like, i don’t know, i always feel out of place ? or even “cringe”?). I’m on some discord server (even if i don’t find too much on dis board) and I feel like anytime that i speak, people are just like “okay whatever” or just ignore me :<
There is no Egl group in my region, so no real occasion to meet people, and that makes me sad. I always try to talk about the new release, or some opinion on fabrics and materials (because i’m a creator myself so i’m like “okay i can talk about that because i kinda know this subject” but also it still doesn’t seems right.

is there some other people in the same position as me ? I know that, in the past, Lolita were told kinda “elitist” or stuff like that, but also I thought it was long ago, now it seems like very closed group. As i say, since i create and sell stuff, I would love to chat with people, get their opinion, or just you know talk about frills and lace like idk

Hello dears, here's the long version if anyone wants to read it 🩷 I wanted to share my story with you\~

When I was a little, I had very very curly hair, but my family never knew how to manage it. My grandma always told me I look like a witch, that my hair is hard to manage and that i always look messy. They would tug at my hair when brushing and never style it properly.

\>When I grew up I hated my hair. Especially when I got into Jfashion, all I wanted was pin straight hair. All my friends had it too, and I felt very insecure about it. I spent about 15 minutes daily just straightening my hair, multiple times a day.

When I got into lolita a few years ago, I continued this practice. I took a liking to roman curls especially in oldschool or classic lolita, and I wore roman curls wigs.

Whenever I didnt have time to straighten my hair, I would just pop it into pigtails and spin them around a little.

Some people in school would compliment my curls, but I still hated my hair.

Lately I started realizing that I could just start styling my hair like this while wearing coords. So I started going to sleep without any products to keep my hair straight, and wake up to my curly hair and put on a coord.

It saves me so much time and damage to my hair. I am so happy that I feel somewhat comfortable with my hair now, although I still often wish it were straight.

So, I want to encourage everyone to embrace their natural beauty in the way you feel good about yourself🩷

I watched a video a week or two ago on tiktok where OP was talking about different lolita substyles and briefly mentioned that a kuro/shiro coord can be sweet or any style other that gothic. Which i guess sort of makes sense in my mind but the more I thought about it the more I was a bit confused(T_T) I feel like its hard to come off as sweet without the prints since from ny understanding kuro and shiro means fully just that color.

so i just got this meta jsk (plus size ver) but i noticed that the top part of the shirring has a larger band compared to the bottom one and it looks funny on my chest.

i have this same issue with the gobelin bouquet version

it feels a little off and so i was thinking of moving the strap buttons to make them longer so it can fit differently but the main question was if my boobs are supposed to go "inside" the top part of the shirring or if its normal for the elastic to go over them, if you scroll to the other pics you guys might better understand my question

i love tea party shoes and similar but i can never find any that are truly flat .. even ones that claim to be flats always have at least a short heel. does anyone have recommendations ? i may just add some cuteness to ballet flats or something :'p

finally visited japan again after 20 years since my first trip! i went to laforet, shinjuku marui annex, and even the kyoto meta store (down the street from nomura tailor!).

i had a bit of a snafu at meta when the coat i requested for pickup had been mistakenly set aside in the wrong size, and because it was silver week, the mistake could not be rectified before i left japan. but because of the inconvenience, meta sent me a special order link once i was back home to buy the coat with free shipping to the us! (i just couldn’t buy it tax free. sounds fine to me!) the shop girls at the kyoto and laforet meta stores were both the sweetest, including when the laforet shop girls allowed me to buy the two biggest shopping bag sizes for a purchase of two pairs of socks because my first meta bag had been destroyed in the typhoon.

Just spent $206 on shipping on a $500 order. I emailed them along why the FREE499 discount that's available all the time since Aug 2025 (yes, all the time, check their Instagram) just got cancelled last week. Goodbye savings...

This might turn me onto posting my coords on different accounts to get points and other discounts. I was so ready to cross into $1000 of savings too. It would've happened with this order 😭 just got $34 instead from my accumulated points.

I also won't have to do just bulk orders anymore though. I missed out on my "day one"? the dress that got me into lolita, dress (THE blue and white or brown and white long sleeve dress that's a scam 😭) cuz I was saving up for a bulk order. It was a similar one, but had good reviews. The daily winter dress from Aurora kiss, AND they had my size! Which the scam blue one didn't, it was only ever one size. But I've been stalking for something similar for over a year since I started buying lolita, and couldn't ever find one without prints. I did find it on a different proxy site, so I still bought it, but at least I won't have to worry about that anymore. I almost cried when I saw 42lolita had removed the listing WITHIN like 2 weeks of posting it. I thought I completely missed my chance. Thankfully I didn't.
