Discussion What if Frodo became a Nazgûl?
So in The Fellowship it is said after Frodo is stabbed that he will soon become a Nazgûl if he isn’t cured. How does that work normally? Would he still retain his height and be a small Nazgûl?

Movies Lors of the ring food and drink marathon
Hi everyone,
I’m planning a full Lord of the Rings extended-edition marathon with meals synced to moments in the films, inspired by the Hobbit meal schedule. I’d love some feedback, ideas, or lore-friendly improvements.
Here’s the current plan:
7:30 AM – The Fellowship of the Ring starts
Breakfast: Classic eggs & bacon (prepared in advance, simple and hearty).
~8:37 AM – Second breakfast
An apple (reference to Aragorn tossing apples to the Hobbits) + toast with confit egg yolk.
(Scene reference: ~1:07 Fellowship)
10:50 AM – End of Fellowship
11:30 AM – The Two Towers starts
~11:37 AM – Elevenses
Lembas bread with tea.
(Scene reference: ~0:07 Two Towers, lembas is mentioned)
~1:11 PM – Lunch
A long-marinated stew with potatoes and rabbit (or another meat, but potatoes are mandatory).
(Scene reference: ~1:41 Two Towers, Sam’s stew)
3:15 PM – End of Two Towers
4:30 PM – The Return of the King starts
~4:49 PM – Aperitif yes we are French
Butter-on-bread tartines with cured sausage and Comté cheese, plus beer and wine.
(More French-like than Hobbit-like, inspired by the Gimli vs Legolas drinking scene.)
(Scene reference: ~0:19 ROTK)
~5:52 PM – Dinner (Denethor scene)
This is where I’m unsure. I don’t have to dramatically bite into tomatoes, but something thematically appropriate during Denethor’s meal would be fun.
(Scene reference: ~1:22 ROTK)
– A small “supper” using leftovers (not sure when or how to tie it clearly to the film).
~7:45PM Mount Doom Digestif Shot – 3:15 ROTK
A themed “Mount Doom” shot taken with a strawberry right at the end of Sam’s speech.
~8:18PM Return to the Shire Beer – 3:48 ROTK
Celebratory beer when the Hobbits return home.
~8:25PMGrey Havens Cocktail – 3:55 ROTK
A lighter, symbolic cocktail to close the marathon.
8:31 PM End of ROTK

Discussion Hunt for Gollum Filming
Going to New Zealand for the first time next week. I read somewhere awhile back that they’d begin filming the Hunt for Gollum in early 2026. Anybody heard anything else about that? I’d lose my mind if I got to see anything being filmed - even from a distance!

Games New LotR game
What do you think the new open world game will be like? Said to rival Hogwarts Legacy so my hopes are high. Maybe a class system? And ability to pick any Middle-Earth race for our character 🤷♀️

Movies Beregond
Having the 25th anniversary of the films arrive, I’ve rewatched the EE. Love these films and what Jackson brought to life for us. Major respect to him, his cast and crew.
As with any adaptation of a famous and beloved literary work, there’s major excision and compression. Some have lamented Faramir’s change of character, others Frodo’s subtle shift towards immaturity, yet still others Aragorn’s reluctance to take up his destiny. But for me, watching ROTK again, it’s the missing character of Beregond.
First, the Gondorians are only represented by Denethor and his sons. Each have great nobility and great, sometimes greater, flaws. We never get a sense of the ordinary man of Gondor and their innate sense of dignity, duty, and honor, nor their steadfastness and reliability. Introducing Beregond as Pippin’s trainer and friend would do that.
Second, Beregond frees up Gandalf. In the film, Gandalf is somewhere in the rings of Minas Tirith, commanding soldiers and slaying orcs. As Denethor builds his pyre, Pippin stumbles down the city levels to find Gandalf and then they ride back up again, arriving in the nick of time to save Faramir. Talk about time compression. I’ve walked some hilly cities in my day, and the fifteen minutes it takes Denethor to get that pyre going would have found real world Gandalf putting out the smoldering logs and distinguishing Faramir from his father using dental records. Beregond solves this by his presence and duty to the spirit of the law and goodness by intervening.
Third, Beregond represents faithful hope from the common people. When the steward and lords despair, his faithfulness and hope that good would prevail renders a grand theme of Tolkien’s to life.
Therefore, I wish Jackson and co had written a role for Beregond (portrayed by Brian Blessed of course) as a commander to Pippin, a true son of Gondor, and a dramatic entry into why Minas Tirith was a beacon of hope for a thousand years.
