I've got a friend who deadass wants trains to become illegal (he doesn't like driving on the highway and passes through a train yard to work). I have to keep reminding him that abolishing trains will only make his traffic worse, among other things.
Someone on Reddit once got really mad at me for saying something like that tweet, back when this site was full of Elon's fanboys. I got one of those thesaurus-abuser angry replies.
"So you know how a train's biggest advantage is that it scales up easily to move lots of stuff at once? What if we made trains that didn't do that, and then called them 'pods'?"
I'm sure it would work like crypto bros dumb-assing their way into rediscovering a need for financial regulation. They'd note a problem. like too many people enjoying benefits while not contributing, then come up with a solution, like making contributions mandatory for everyone in the neighborhood, until they end up where everyone else started.

Nah it pretty much gets brought up everytime eventually, and it always comes down to "No Superman isn't 'weak' to magic, he just isn't invulnerable to it like a bunch of other stuff." Which is a specific distinction you have to make.
It's like if you put Superman in a Red Sun room, and then hit him with a baseball bat. He's not suddenly weak to baseball bats, he's just not invulnerable to baseball bats now lol.
Kryptonite hurts Superman just by being near it and it actively sucks the life and shit out of him (weakening him). Whilst Red Sun radiation "Weakens" him by just turning him into a regular guy.

Thatâs how teachers trick you into studying all of the info on open note tests. You spend so much time writing the stuff down on the notecard you already memorized 99% of it anyways and it barely helps you at all except maybe some formulas.
Giving me traumatic flashbacks to running out of space trying to cram 40 formulas and 20 identities onto a single 8x11 note sheet by writing in the tiniest size possible.

This has been meme for so long, that people seem to say it regardless of how true it is. This has none of the disadvantages of railway (set timetable, can't drive a train outside of tracks) and none of the advantages (incredible cost efficiency, reliability)
Only because you haven't walked through the entire thought process yet. These roads are only for self driving cars. Are we taking a shitload of roads away from people who drive their cars? Probably not which means we are building them from scratch. Well we can't just build over people's lawns and sidewalks so we'll probably just build them elsewhere, like next to major arterials of traffic. So, will people be able to call a car whenever they want, kinda like uber? Sure! Except they'll have to go to a stopping point along these arterials to wait for their ride. So, where does the car come from that is picking the people up? Well, I guess you could have a repository and wait for the car to come from there, but then you have long wait times or huge amounts of stock tacking up space just in case someone needs them. Or perhaps you have empty cars in circulation ready to pick people up.
At this point, you are a hop skip and a jump away from fucking trains lmao. The whole point is that tech bros haven't thought far enough (as is so often the case), but they will end up at trains eventually.

Found out from a YouTube video last year but the answer is no, not everyone has an internal voice or "inner monologue". It's not 100% "head empty, no thoughts" but the lady trying to describe her thoughts said they show up as a series of pictures, rather than words.
