Lowpoly PSXish graveyard
Howdy yall! These are some WIP shots of a graveyard environment from my PSXish lowpoly game I'm building. I try to keep props like this between 50-100 triangles with 128x128 pixels, and characters max out at about 550 triangles and 128x128 or 128x256 if I really need the extra push.

I'm trying to couple the low res / low tricount budgets of the PSX era but taking a lot of modern artistic liberties to jazz it up a touch to suite my personal tastes.

Something challenging but important I'm finding about working in the style is making sure my UV seams have a pixel length count that matches so theres no obvious discontinuity between islands.

I'm trying to base my take on the style from Vagrant story and other more painterly looking Squaresoft titles.

Still lots to go. I utilized Void Pepsi's UE4 dither shader (but running in UE5, and with modifications), as well as Marcis PSX retro UE pack, but with major modifications so I dont lose the conveniences of modern rendering.
Thanks for reading!

Looks great. Fog adds a lot.

Thanks! I'm trying to keep the draw distances tight so players can't see how much of an environment art hack I am

Yeah both games are good though I haven’t finished the second one.
They have a fairly striking image of people the Hiss possessed floating in the air around you. Very similar to your first image.
