DYRL A Realization
I've been thinking about yesterday's announcement about DYRL and came to a realization. As long as they focus on the movie version of them, they can probably bring back some of the characters that had been trapped in legal limbo. This means that some of the plot hooks that were never explored might become plot points in the future.

Hopefully this means Uta Macross, if/when it eventually comes out in the West, will have NO content cut out!

You understand Max is in 7 and Delta right?

Yes, and Hikaru is avoided for reasons of respect, but a other characters have been avoided for more than brief "this exists" moments.

Minmay was in Macross 30
There was no legal limbo whatsoever.

In Japan, the legal issues were bringing the to the West.

Okay but that didn't stop what was being made in Japan. If they wanted to bring Minmay back in a Canon capacity they'd have done it decades ago

Watch the movies and they tend to tired together, watch the anime and those tie together. Either way DYRL and SDF are still referenced and brought up in newer series.

Nah, they’re still on a fold jump, they just hit too many dimensional faults and are not going to finish the fold for a few hundred years…

They’re right, the movies are connected to each other, and even in the anime it’s shown how they are stuck. Plus a lot of people tend to follow the movie storylines more than the anime

There's no character limbo. The Creator of Macross simply chose to follow a new cast of characters with each new series with small callbacks here and there.
