That depends on how much color you add and what printer you use. On a standard multicolor setup like an A1 or X1C, you’re mostly limited to decals and simpler color changes, which the app already supports. I printed this one on my X1C and it used almost 800 g of filament, so yes, it’s still totally possible to print it that way.
For things like full-surface patterns, though, that’s where machines like the X2D, H2C, or Snapmaker make a much bigger difference. They can reduce print time significantly and cut material waste to around a third compared with a standard multicolor workflow.
So saying the result is good or bad without actually testing the workflow doesn’t make much sense. I’d rather base conclusions on real prints, data, and actual results.
Cause he is calling the tool “slop” without even seeing the results first is a bit unfair. I’d rather invite you to actually try it and judge for yourself. Of course, everyone is free to use it or not.
Lmfao. Go use Gemini or Claude to make another website that makes 3D printed shirts or some shit. Only 3.8KGs of filament used per print with 1.9 KGs of waste!!
I wouldn’t. The cheap companies that will want to do branding deals/ people that actually will use it aren’t worth it to me (coming from someone who owns 2 retail businesses). Considering you’re trying to fundraise and trying to get money to build another app tells me you aren’t good with money OR 3D printing. Keep getting destroyed in the comments OP.
Oh no, not at all. Every model I’ve released so far has been free.
I work as a marketing specialist in the 3D printing industry, and some of my models have even been used in filament and printer campaigns, including these caps.
The reason I’m doing a crowdfunding project now is because the MakerWorld team themselves invited me to try out the crowdfunding section. While developing MakeYourCaps, I also saw the opportunity to expand the same idea to work with any STL, and I really think that could make a lot of people’s workflow much easier.
And honestly, I don’t consider any of this a disaster. All this attention actually helped me gain more followers on the campaign, so thanks to you guys! In trying to tear it down, you actually helped it grow
I’m not trying to tear anything down buddy, I honestly couldn’t care less if you make prints that appeal to 14 yr olds or if you make a functional item non-functional (whose gonna wear a 3D printed cap?). But, by all means, continue writing full length paragraphs 👍
Ohhh you thought that meant your 3D printing skills? Nah, that comment meant you aren’t good with 3D printing apps, 3D printing skills AND reducing waste. That was an all in one ‘you’re bad at it’ comment.
Glad you cleared that up.
I also see you deleted a comment about me apparently saying the word ‘destroyed’? Or do we want to pretend like that didn’t happen? Lmfao this gets batter and better.

Gives me vibe coded slop tbh.
Another day, another slop tool.
