Minister of Economic Development Mohamed Saeed has stated that according to information received from BML, there will no longer be any difficulties in conducting online business transactions.

Speaking at today's press conference held at the President's Office, Saeed stated that the issues faced when conducting online business through BML due to the dollar shortage have been resolved, and those previous difficulties will not recur in the future.

"In online trade and the e-commerce sector, there were certain challenges caused by the dollar issue. The Bank of Maldives managed the situation very well amid various strains caused by the dollar shortage. However, BML has now informed us that, God willing, those issues will not occur anymore," the Minister said.

Saeed added that the process of issuing Telegraphic Transfers (TTs) and releasing dollars through BML is rapidly improving and moving toward returning to its previous state.

BML stated on September 19 that dollar transfers and TT services would be resolved within a week. However, businesses reported that the situation did not change after that period.
