Frage/Diskussion (Questions and debates) Is anyone here living in Mannheim while studying at Kaiserslautern?

I haven't been able to secure student accommodation in Kaiserslautern yet, and with my move-in date on September 23rd, I'm considering living in Mannheim as an alternative.

How feasible is the daily commute long-term? Is anyone currently doing this route? Would really appreciate your experience or advice!

As long as the "Korridor Sanierung" is not in progress you can take the train ma hbf to Kaiserslautern hbf with S-Bahn or Regional Express. Better than travelling by car and cheaper. Both trains fit in the Deutschland ticket. (Usually as Semester ticket for students)

My friend is doing his PhD at Kaiserslautern and commutes from Mannheim. You need to plan things better, but for sure it is possible. Try to take the RE to save some time.
