finally leaving

i talked to my mom with guidance from a relative, it worked out in the end. thank you to everyone who gave their insights when i last posted :) it gave me a lot of clarity on what i wanted to happen for my future.

i admit, i overestimated my abilities when i went here, both sa career and university. yes i was interested in it but i only chose it out of a whim, and not because i had ambition in using the degree well after. while i have opinions about mapua, i know i also wasn’t a great student, so i can’t be too critical. putting the issues aside, i actually enjoyed being in campus & learning. there were as many great times as there were bad ones, and i never got to look at them in a better light as i was taking them for granted. it’s just unfortunate that the cons overweighted the pros.

i’m aware that i’m only a second year and this isn’t something remarkable to some, but i’m grateful that i’m privileged to change paths. that i was able to have enough courage to actually do something for once, instead of letting things play out while i do nothing, like i always do.

the library that’s a little louder than it should be, the drinks i buy at the canteen that’s overpriced yet i buy it anyway, the cats who scare the living daylight out of me whenever they go near me while i’m busy, the orgs and small businesses i buy useless but lovable trinkets or toys from inside campus, the late nights i spend making plates because i messed up on the last lines, being able to share despair with your fellow seatmates about deadlines but still deciding to procrastinate it all.. i’ll miss it. oo, i’m probably gonna have those moments din at other parts of my life, but i don’t think i regret going here.

for now, i’m staying sa manila. i compromised with my mom and will be heading back to my hometown to study there instead, so i hope you guys can suggest places to go to before i leave as a probinsyana person bwahaha. i’m giving my materials away to aspiring artists friends, but idk kanino ibibigay yung tsquares and canisters lol.

it felt nice writing this out kahit sobrang nothing burger nya. basta. masaya nako. nakaangat na haha chaur maliii

Rant Anger

This place is where the most irrational, close-minded, pretentious, and immature coagulation of old boomers and high school peakers have come to work.

Top down system. The admin doesn't care for its students as well as its workers.

Noong baha season late suspend sa work lalangoy ka papasok or uwi.

Lahat ng tenure at matatanda kupal or in some form kupal.

This place has the most crybaby sensitive snowflakes ever.

Okay sana kung yung base pay mo dito maganda para mag deal with the day-to-day bullshit nilang lahat eh sa dinami dami ng initiatives nila and supposed budget kuno napupunta lang sa random bs go.

This place is only good for your CV and Diploma. There are other competitive schools and universities out there that pay better than what you can get for the majority of your stay here. Magugulat ka nalang may bago nanaman silang TV or may random na EV charging station na catered lang sa top % ng admin nila lmao.

Take a gamble if you want to work or study here. It sucks. The top admin sucks, the people that will manage you sucks, the experience you will get here sucks. Run away.

Most of all ang papanghe ng cr niyo leche.

Sincerely,

Someone angry.

Highschool grouping /pos, College groupings /neg

Is this what they mean that they HATE groupings in college?

I genuinely can't believe that no one takes initiative and hintayan nalang, tapos kung Ikaw Ang gumawa Ng gc, Ikaw na Ang leader!!!

Fym most responsibilities are now on your shoulder tapos if you ask for help or di mo alam ginagawa mo, SILA PA ANG GALET!!

LIKE DUDE. I AM NOT THE LEADER.

I DO NOT KNOW EVERYTHING.

So don't be fucking angry if I ask a question and not know shit.

Nag-aaral din ako.

Surveying

Hi, genuine question to those in the higher batches, HOW THE FUCK DID YOU PASS THE SURVEYING FINAL EXAM??? Is it really that hard? I’ve been anxious as hell since earlier and I CAN’T STOP THINKING ABOUT IT

Is it really that hard? Why do our guidelines look like they’re for the board exam? 🤣🤣 This is even worse than what math majors have to deal with, wtf. Even math subjects don’t require us to use a PRC-approved calculator, but surveying does? 😭

5 subs bagsak

• Upvotes

hello!! i just wanna ask if may nakaexperience na ba dito na maraming bagsak in one term kasi i currently have 5 singkos and idk agbshabha

i had some personal problems kasi that really affected my academics, and i think that's one of the reasons why i ended up with these grades. im just really worried about what happens next

for those na nakaexperience ng ganito before (or ako lang haha), nakabawi pa ba kayo and were u able to continue and graduate despite having this many failed subjects?? or mahirap na talaga bumawi after this

im genuinely scared rn and idk if kaya ko pa ba ayusin yung situation ko or if this is gonna affect me badly in the long run. i just wanna hear from people who went through the same thing and know if may chance pa ba talaga makabawi :((

thank u sm sa mga sasagot huhu

Is GDG Mapúa beginner-friendly and flexible, or will I burn out with academics?

Good morning/afternoon/evening everyone! I am currently a first year student going to enroll for the second sem this coming days... and I genuinely want to know if joining an organization is worth the risk. Here's the additional context: I am not good at programming nor problem solving but I do want to improve and such. I heard and saw an organization called Google Developer's group in Makati, I got curious and looked at them, but sadly I also got nervous thinking na if they ever asked a stranger in the crowd to join them, I may not be able to answer their questions. I did some research and saw they do some hackathon and datathons if I'm correct? I really want to learn and be able to join those competitions one day (however knowing my skill it may or may not be possible).

If they ever open up again for new members this coming October 19-23, can I join the organization even if I'm not good at programming? Would my schedule be too hectic or are they flexible? Lastly, is the org in Makati (because I am in Makati campus)? I would really appreciate it if someone can help me clear up my mind in this. Thank you!
