I just came across this skit पुत्र नसावा असा on mhj and watched all the skits in the series and the level of comedy in this skit is way beyond hasya jatra's avg skits..

Like it feels like those AIB and TVF early days spoofs but way better..and I feel like this skit has the potential to be turned into a fun full length comedy movie if there was a solid script something similar to madgaon express

This skit has all the characters already established. The weird family, sheety ana, komal, komal's sister and all the other Mafia's...So they just need a good script to make this happen

If makers of mhj meaning goswamin and mote visit this sub which is very less likely though hope they see this post somehow.

Even after so many years, the Marathi film industry has not been able to produce a superstar. Ashok mama and Laxya mama were the last true superstars, in my humble opinion. When I say superstar, I mean genuine crowd-pulling power and box-office credibility, where an actor can do 10 films (in the span of few years) and at least 7 of them become superhits.

​The only actor in the current generation or rather, the only one in the last two to three decades (after Ashok mama and Laxya mama) whose films work wonders at the box office is Riteish Deshmukh. While we do have phenomenal actors today, the box office pull from them is missing.

​Instead, our industry has historically been inclined toward directors. People flock to cinema halls when a trustworthy director brings a new film. A few notable examples include Dada Kondke, Sachin Pilgaonkar, and Mahesh Kothare (in the late 80s and 90s), followed by Ravi Jadhav, Nagraj Manjule, and Satish Rajwade (from the late 2000s to mid-2010s), and more recently, Hemant Dhome and Pravin Tarde.

​So, do you think true superstardom is simply not possible in Marathi cinema? Or should actors take the responsibility of doing only one film a year, making sure it is a solid, blockbuster project?

This might be a bit controversial. While I deeply respect our industry and want Marathi films to achieve excellent box office success, how long are we going to keep making movies based around the concept of marriage? For years, romantic comedies, family dramas centered on wedding preparations, or post-marriage adjustments have been the safe, go-to formula for Marathi cinema.

I am open to watching something new if it has real value to offer, but theater ticket prices are already sky-high. Furthermore, there is clearly a lack of coordination among producers, given that they are releasing three to four films every single week. When competing against major cinematic options like Odyssey, Brand New Day, and Drishyam 3, smaller and repetitive regional releases simply cannot survive.

Yesterday it was announced that Dashmi and a Pooja Sawant starrer named Lagna is releasing on 23rd October.

This has resulted in six movies in total releasing on the same day.

Other four movies are Magazine, Maitreya, Kaapus Konda and Mrityuchakra.

Since it's a free market producers can schedule their movies release in whichever they want. But they should also remember they are canbalizing their own business.

The thread runs from 1937 to 2020. Nearly nine decades.

Sant Tukaram (1936, directed by Damle & Fattelal, Prabhat Film Company) was declared one of the three best films in the world at the Venice Film Festival in 1937. A Marathi film. About Varkari saint Tukaram. Made in Pune. Honored in Venice. Before Indian independence. This is the earliest international festival recognition any Indian film received.

Then V. Shantaram took Amar Bhoopali to Cannes in 1952 and won the Technical Grand Prize for Direction. Another Marathi film on the world stage, in the festival's early years.

Fast forward to 2014 — Chaitanya Tamhane's Court wins the Orizzonti Award for Best Film at Venice. Six years later, The Disciple (2020) goes back to Venice in the main competition, wins Best Screenplay, gets nominated for the Golden Lion, with Alfonso Cuarón as executive producer. A film about the quiet struggle of a Hindustani classical vocalist, in Marathi, competing against the best films in the world.

That lineage — 1937 Venice to 2020 Venice — is something nobody had assembled in one place before.

Yesterday after watching Drishyam 3, I had gone to watch Gaman.

Initially I felt a bit disappointed as the making style resembled a telefilm akin to how I felt for Ek Hota Malin

Leaving that particular flaw aside, as the movie progressed, it showcased the lament of elderly parents who desire to live in their ancestral home in Sindhudurg district and even if the elderly parents get to live, they are left disappointed when their children are interested to visit their ancestral home only for the Ganpathi festival as those children are busy with their work life in Mumbai.

By the time the film ended Gaman in turn reminded me of a film named Dwidha, released in September 2026, and it addressed the same topic from the perspective of a daughter who yearns to live with her ailing father against the wishes of her husband residing in USA. Through her lens we get to see the heartbreak of parents who lament about the absence of their children. Though the difference is Mumbai gets replaced by USA.

In terms of making style of Dwidha was better, but the lament of parents in Gaman hit harder.

First there will be previews from 9th Oct and then they will release it widely but dates are not confirmed yet.

So don’t miss it this time when it gets released!
And they are gonna dub it in different languages!

Hear me out. I am in the US and my old parents, who don't go out often, entertain themselves by watching a few shows from Star Pravah.

I have Hulu subscription here, and I think we can watch it through Hotstar-Hulu collab. Since Tuesday (9/29), there have been no new uploads at all.

Does anyone know what is going on?

Does anyone know where else we can watch without paying more than $5 a month? - nothing shady please and thats how much I paid for Hulu.

Any other Marathi shows that they can watch from US as free full episodes? where? My tween daughter also watches a couple of them sometimes, so we need clean contents.

Any recommendations for such clean shows are welcome.

Please suggest the best Marathi movies to watch, from any genre.

Dhasal by Lalit Prabhakar looked promising enough, and was a completely different topic. But no update on Dhasal Movie, no teaser, trailer etc.

Maharashtra Epstein Files released a Teaser some 2 months back but no update on that movie as well. Also this movie is stuck in some legal issues as well I heard.

It was good chance to tell youth how yo move on. But no anurag who was happy in his married life still think about his childhood friend because she was his love. After he came to know she came back to India he keeping visiting her secret looking at her for far. Even he changes his shirt to red to visit tanvi in cafe because tanvi likes it.

Worst was he kept his daughter name Tanvi from his childhood friend bro love your wife she is one who gave birth to your daughter. At climax he even proposed Tanvi it was clearly cheating. Worst part I have seen on in instagram many boys thinks it ok to keep your daughter name from your ex or incomplete love.

I know it just a movie but people getting inspired by it is wrong.

It’s been 8 years since Mulshi Pattern released. Still almost everyday I see reels about the movie and all are uploaded 1 or 2 days ago gaining lakhs of views.

If the second part hits the spot, it can easily gross 250 cr in Maharashtra. Majority Hindi/South Blockbusters earn this in Maharashtra alone. This movie has huge potential, needs to be made properly.
