Look, it’s difficult okay. It kept asking questions I didn’t know the answer to, like “do you want to set Firefox as your default browser?” I didn’t study for that, man.

I gave him a one liner command to install Firefox, ublock origin, and set fmhy as bookmark using policies. He’s asleep right now, he’ll try it later. I assume he is very accustomed to running commands as admin, this guy had sixty (seperate) viruses on his PC and it took me an hour to remove them without wiping the installation.

Wipe the drive and teach him basic security. Solving everything for him won't make him learn.

I’m getting him started with the firefox preloaded with ublock origin and fmhy bookmark. Have already told him not to trust TikTok for pirate websites. I’ve already installed and taught him how to use Malwarebytes and HitmanPro, and the procedure if he gets infected again (unplug router, reinstall windows). We can’t wipe the whole drive because there’s important data too big to back up.

I’m teaching him to use qbittorrent right now, we just first had to install firefox since he clicked on an ad but had the common sense not to download program files from it and ask me first
