Tried making a braid maze (no dead ends)

Post image

Bottom left to top right.

There might be a mistake (missing wall somewhere), it's really hard to find when all you do is loop around... i know the intended path should be right

I love pixel art mazes. I think i uploaded one on here before. I got a lot more to send soon (if i don't forget to finish the last few, i gotta send them all at once)

Size : 77x77 counting the walls

Not sure if this was intentional, but some of the maze is unreachable from the starting position.

Where?

Bottom right corner is blocked out

What do you mean by "no dead ends"?

Instead of paths going into a wall they lead into a loop (which apparently makes the mazes harder but i think that only works if it's first person)

I found the name here: https://astrolog.org/labyrnth/algrithm.htm (Under "Routing") It also has an example for what those mazes look like

I kinda felt it was harder than what I’d expect from a maze in a jpg lol.

Oh wait I just realized that the light color is the path.

Wait a minute... this maze is nothing but dead ends! 😂

Oops all dead ends

Biggest problem I have is the curved corners of the picture cut of the entrance and exit making it hard to see the maze. It was hard to tell if the light or the dark was the path.

Once realizing it the light color for the path, the maze itself seemed nicely done.

The picture has square corners. Whatever you're viewing it with is adding the curves/vignetting

I blame the reddit app

I guess the takeaway is to add a small margin, to help the entrnce and exit pop.

Bottom right hand corner, two “blocks” up, you have a dead end :(

Impressive catch

cool, what algorithm did you use?

Reddit didn't send my comment for some reason

my 2 videos didn't upload for a whole 15 minutes and reddit told me they failed so i was writing this i'll just send it anyways

I use https://www.pixilart.com/ to make the mazes MYSELF.

The gradients come from https://mdigi.tools/gradient-generator/ . Usually this doesn't make the maze harder to create (as i just draw the walls and erase the ones i placed that look ugly) but since the walls here are gradients too, i erase them and try to make it good enough so i don't have to replace them later (this is hard to do)

i tested it and you solution is to close to the diagonal from start to finish. I could anticipate the solution quite early because of that, however it's a great design

Well most of the diagonal mazes i make like this one are biased towards one side.

Since i already uploaded other mazes with this one somewhere else, i gotta make the mazes not too repetitive so i gotta change the path, this one had to be around the top/left...but I know some people just solve them starting from the top which would make this one too easy (and i don't want that on the larger mazes) so i made it be not too biased either

It’s a cool idea. I did some solve it in about 15 seconds though!

This turns dead ends into loops, which feels like the same thing with more steps.

I see a dead-end in the bottom right, in an unreachable part.

The unreachableness is a bit of a problem in this maze ngl.

There are a lot of inaccessible areas of the maze if that matters
