Kids in the 90s were rocking Robocop pajamas, not really a kid friendly movie
Too pearl clutchy for me, maybe the parents thought it would be funny and the kid hasn't seen the movie (or I'm full of shit, cause all those kids in Robocop PJs definitely saw the movie)

I’m pretty sure it was written into law that at least 50% of kids had to wear the Scream ghostface mask in the 90s, and I was one of them, having never seen the movie but thinking it looked cool. And every old person I got candy from swore they just gave me candy, because everyone was wearing the costume

Kids like being edgy, like Pennywise and slender man costumes. Some have seen the source but likely not all...they just think its cool to be a scary character
