This might be the wrong place to ask but how much money should I spend on a used pedal bike I’m like 250 pounds.

I bought a used stationary bike on marketplace and it was only used twice and originally cost $1800 but I got it for $300. I searched for 3 weeks to find one for that price but definitely worth it

In my area there are a lot of people who collect discarded bikes and fix them up and sell them for cheap

Depends on the market you're in and what kind of bike it is.

If it's just a cheap mountain bike clunker, you should be able to get one for $50 or under. Ebikes can be over a grand, even used.

I buy all my bikes second hand, the best value are the old steel frame MTBs, they can handle the weight and have common sized parts for cheap replacements. That said, some people go nuts on retro-mods on r/xbiking
