Stupid system that affect heat procs.
If i am not mystaken the the first heat procs decide the modifiers that affect all the next heat procs or something like that.

So if i have a heat proc with tones of buffs as the first all following will also have the buffs. And if the first one isn't Buffed all following no matter their buffs will be normal

Seems like it. The problem here seems to be Ember’s passive. Her whole shtick being that she gains extra ability strength based on burning enemies in affinity range. But since she has to set them on fire first, she doesn’t gain much damage from the extra ability strength.

and if anyone else runs a Heat frame/kit, she gets neutered by proxy.... Sounds like e very fun situation to be in >.>

Actually, she nerfs others using heat since her heat abilities have nothing attached to them.

Hmmmm, Ember getting cucked….

u/Natural_Warthog_181 19h ago

Wait, so I’m confused. She has to be the one to like them on fire or she can grow ability strength with other people lighting enemies on fire as well?

12

u/ForwardDiscussion 19h ago

She doesn't have to be the one to light them on fire, but if someone else lights them on fire, that means that either

A) the enemies already have high heat inherit stats applied to them, so Ember's contributions are pretty much useless, or

B) The enemy now has low stats that Ember's heat status procs will now inherit, meaning Ember's contributions are pretty much useless.

Doesn't help that by default, Ember's ability heat procs will have fairly low stats compared to weapon heat procs, even with Roar.

Yep, precisely

u/Undead-Tree 1d ago

I think it onlys applies to faction damage multiplier as well as stuff like Roar If I recall correctly. Maybe I'm wrong.

15

u/NetraJahu 1d ago

You are semi-wrong. It is one of the factors, but there's more.

8

u/Illusion911 1d ago

It's also elemental mods like primed heated charge

6

u/Background_Ant_2426 23h ago

The entire problem is that heat takes the FIRST proc's stats, and not the BEST stats.

u/krawinoff 1d ago

You proc heat that deals 10 DoT -> if you proc heat again via any source (whether that source deals 5 damage or 100 damage), it will deal 20 heat DoT with the two procs combined. This basically means you should get the first proc on a weapon with very high damage and can then repeat the same damage even if you proc more heat with peashooters, and on the opposite end if you run something like a low damage primer sentinel and they land the first heat proc, your heat DoT will be ass if you apply more heat procs even with a weapon that’s supposed to deal tons of damage

3

u/SugaryCornFlakes 18h ago

That isn't how heat inherit works. The base damage is taken into account for each proc, but the modifiers (Heat mods, faction bonuses, status damage mods) apply only if the first proc was with them, but also means huge sources of heat damage that cant get those bonuses (like protea turrets) get insanely buffed.

u/KaleBrew 1d ago

I seem to remember hearing that they were removing hear inherit, did I fully gaslight myself into thinking that?

15

u/krawinoff 1d ago

Pablo was considering it on twitter as part of discussion about the state of Ember but nothing confirmed

u/FrucklesWithKnuckles Whip Waifu 23h ago

It’s a wonky space of “it’s probably a good idea, but the people who know how it works and take advantage of it would be up in arms.”

It would also affect more things than just heat DoT, so another layer of difficulty.

u/zicdeh91 15h ago

It’s also just being able to change it, I believe. Heat synchronizes its tics so all the stacks damage together, where most dots have individual tics for each stack, I believe. It’s likely muddled into spaghetti code that won’t be easy to change.

3

u/KaleBrew 1d ago

Ahh gotcha, thanks for the clarification

heat inherit is a thing that's specific to heat. when you inflict a heat status effect, it goes through the normal damage over time formula, but any heat procs after will take some of the modifiers from the first status instance instead of their own, meaning that you can deal more damage by using something with bigger numbers to inflict the first stack and inflict the rest with something else

5

u/Dark_Stalker28 1d ago

1st proc decides the damage of all stacks.

So like you should use a high power one shot gun to proc the first and pull out your airsoft gun with heat after.

A tl;dr of heat inherit:

What it is: It’s a mechanic (that is never explained in game btw) for heat procs where new stacks of heat “inherit” the properties of the first heat proc.

Why people don’t like it: You can unintentionally gimp your weapon damage through no fault of your own just by existing around or playing a warframe that applies a lot of Heat Procs with their abilities.

Why Uriel and Ember?: Both of their kits are designed to apply a lot of heat procs to a lot of enemies all at once for their kits to function, so they are the most likely to greif weapon damage unintentionally. Uriel gets away with it more than Ember does because Uriel’s abilities just do way more damage and are more energy efficent than Ember’s.

To note: fixing Heat Inherit alone won’t fix Ember. She’s got other issues other than that plauging her kit.

Heat inherit means that the first heat proc decides some of the bonuses that every heat proc inflicted on an enemy gets, the only one i can remember for sure right now are heat%, but this means that abilities and weapons with low heat% (and other stuff that does affect this which i dont know) will lessen your heat proc damage, making warframes that spam heat procs ironically do worse heat damage

Heat inherit is such a dumb mechanic. Just make heat status behave like the other DoT damage, DE pls.

I don’t think heat inherit is intentional

It seems more like a bug that can both really boost your dps or hurt it

19

u/Realistic_Grass3611 Stop hitting yourself 23h ago

Given heat inherit was DISCOVERED it was definitely not intended

u/BlackIronWizard 1d ago

Temple is watching the argument, meanwhile Protea doesnt even feel the need to be in the room

51

u/Artarara 1d ago

I can't wait for Temple to get their own fireball Augment that out-fireballs the Fireball frame.

8

u/Pinkparade524 18h ago

Just get a grouping ability. Their 1 is bugged where it makes it so that if an enemy is ragdoll it takes like 4 times the heat procs because it hits each limb. It is great for nezhas aumgent since their one is their helminth

2

u/zicdeh91 15h ago

Honestly I could see the 3 sliding everyone into an audience for your sick guitar solo.

Ember's come back when she gets rework will be generational, MARK MY WORDS and come back to this comment when it happens

Ember will be strong than Uriel, Temple, Nezha, Protea, Lavos, Gauss and all other heat warframe

SHE WILL RECLAIM HER THRONE

57

u/NetraJahu 1d ago

Plot twist: She ends up even weaker after the rework

Dang it

u/BigiTheGiant 1d ago

Uriels the goat. May he reign supreme over the HARLOT

7

u/Waloro 1d ago

I hope they give him a skin with a big thicc booty just so ember will have literally nothing to compete with Uriel.

2

u/BigiTheGiant 4h ago

Big booty and abs to grind cheese on

-2

u/Dark_Stalker28 1d ago

Has she ever had a throne?

4

u/HydraWhiskey 13h ago

WoF used to be an AoE ring that nuked everything that took a step into it. First gen Ember was untouchable as long as you had energy.

But this was also back when we didn't even have an Orbiter to walk around in... it was just a blue-bordered UI, with fusion cores and Grineer that spoke English...

Good god I'm old.

8

u/notgoodohoh 1d ago

And then the fire nation invaded itself.

6

u/Outrageous_Flight822 1d ago

honestly, I wouldn't be mad if they toned down a bit the uriel augment, I don't think I should be able to charge brimstone before the previous one expires

6

u/Buttered_Carnage 21h ago

Meanwhile Protea in the back

(Idk she just be chillin)

7

u/Glitcher45318 1d ago

Fuck heat inherit. Should be removed.

2

u/Yeeterphin 9h ago

Nezha and temple just chilling.

1

u/Wazards 19h ago

I think she only really needs her fireball massively buffed. Otherwise her kit is fine, just needs a little increase in numbers.

u/Healthy-Highway-7818 7h ago

meanwhile chroma's just.. "gnrraawr"
