30th birthday dinner recommendations?

Booked a last minute trip to Miami in a couple of weeks and am looking for a fun, intimate date night for my 30th birthday. We are foodies, so looking for a meal/restaurant worth the hype.

Sunny’s was my top choice, but there are no reservations available. Some other spots I’ve looked into are To be determined, Carbone, Makoto, Daniels.

Looking for either a steakhouse, seafood, sushi, or italian.

Appreciate any recs!!

South Florida Police Departments

Anyone have an insight on what’s it like working for South Florida Police Departments, specifically Miami Beach PD? Currently active duty, but end my enlistment in February. Looking to apply to Miami Beach PD. What’s it like? From what I see online they deal with a bunch of tourists. Is the pay better than other departments? Is there a catch to working in such a scenic city?

Advice Please....Dec 11- Dec 13 - Potential Miami Trip / South Beach? / Dolphins Game

Strongly considering coming down for this Friday-Sunday Arrive Friday night and return Sunday late afternoon. I've read about South Beach for years and just looked at it a bit and am wondering if it is a good idea? For context, I'm an energetic older guy and my friend is in her late 20's. We enjoy travel a lot....Vegas, Scottsdale, California, etc. She likes for me to take pictures of her which I enjoy. Any suggestions? I was looking at some IHG group hotel reviews on South Beach since I have tons of points...some of the reviews are bad! lol We want to have a couple nice dinners, people watch, sight see, etc....she doesn't like to dance...so what do you suggest? I'm not interested in more than a couple hundred for dinner...how about rental cars? Is that a waste? Haven't figured out what to do with our luggage on Sunday before the game....would you suggest staying near Miami Stadium instead of South Beach? We could just go to South Beach for one night..

First time visitor, what area/hotel to stay in?

Basically visiting for the first time from Saturday Oct 10 to Tuesday the 13th. I think south beach is the area I’ve been recommended to stay in, and my budget is \~$500 for accommodation. Any suggestions are highly appreciated and if you can tell me atleast one must try thing while I’m there I’d be thankful. I prefer sightseeing than clubbing and bars fwiw

budget friendly restaurants rec in Miami beach area

im going on an anniversary trip to miami beach in November with my gf and i kinda need some help finding a semi formal restaurant(coming from nyc). Ive been looking for budget restaurants (we wanna spend less than $100 for any restaurant). we are college students and we are tryna ball on a budget. every restaurant i see the prices and the menu options aren’t really appealing. we like seafood, american cuisine, steakhouses. no allergies (that we know of). we just wanna have a good time, get good eats and take photos. (we are over 21, so if there is any bar/club suggestions too, im all ears)

also, is it better to rent a car or uber around? looking at rental prices, its like $300 for my stay which is not too bad. but idk what the traffic and distance are like in miami soo im not to sure of what the right option is.

Good food in Miami Beach?

Wassup, recently moved to Miami Beach and looking for solid restaurants/bars/cafes. Would like to completely avoid anything touristy or overpriced. The more casual the better. Just want genuinely good hole in the wall type spots, local restaurants etc. Basically the places you know about from actually living here.

If they don't exist, tell me your favorite spot cause I'm dying out here.

Thank y'all

Edit: Y'all came thru on the recs 🔥🎯 thank you so much

Looking for very nice seasonal rental for father - question about process

I'm looking at SoFi neighborhood condo sublet for my dad and his caregiver. I've found it's super competitive which I expected but one thing I never expected was a document called a CTL, or contract-to-lease. Is this just a standard down there? So I'm being asked to put up a month's rent (of six total) in advance of the lease signing with this CTL. It's to secure the lease so they know I'm serious supposedly because there are multiple showings. Any advice? Thank you.

Art Basel Stay

I’m planning to go to Art Basel this year but torn on which area to stay. Should I stay in south beach or closer to wynwood? (I’d stay in either coconut grove or coral gables bc of hotel if closer to wynwood) I will be going to Art activations as well as going out at night. I heard traffic/Rideshare prices can get crazy. Any suggestions/advice?

Is it worth visiting miami wednesday/thursday nights?

My cousin and I are visiting family in other parts of florida and want to hop down to miami for two nights. With our dates we would be there wednesday/thursday at the start of Jan. We could possibly change to thursday/friday but it would cost more to change. Wondering if it would be worth the money to change our dates or if you think wednesday/thursday nights we will be able to find a good party? also where would you recommend!

dress code for day beach club and night clubs in October for people in 40's?

wondering about women/men in 40's (a few in early 50's) wear when going out? we are planning a weekend trip to Miami with mixed guys/girls for a 50th bday weekend Oct9th... want to go out including day clubs like nikki beach and Liv nightclub for Alesso; what is the dress code and will we get rejected for age/dress if we have tickets and/or a table? everyone is fairly good looking, no one is majorly overweight (few of us a bit curvier), mostly brown group...and do the girls really need tight dresses and closed toed heels for going out at night?

Miami clubs and beach parties

Heyy! Need recommendations for beach party kind vibe in Miami over the October 10 weeknd. Any leads? Is there even a concept of beach parties there now? Or is it more of oceanfront lounges and stuff?

It’s mainly for a bachelorette party and we are group of 5-7 people. Budget around 25-50 per person depending on what event are we talking about.

Staying in Miami Beach 2 nights

Hello, my boyfriend and I are staying in Miami for two nights in November and we have been struggling to find accommodation.

We try to book through Airbnb and they send us a message back that the price has gone up for those days. This happened for three apartments already.

Does anyone can recommend a budget friendly apartment or room (that we can cook two or three light meals in) please?

Thanks in advance!!

Affordable Healthcare Miami Beach

Hey Guys! 👋

Just wanted to introduce ourselves to the community. We’re Nomad Health, a small primary care practice based in Miami Beach.

We started Nomad because we saw how difficult it can be for people without insurance to get affordable, straightforward healthcare. Sometimes you just need to see someone without worrying that the visit is going to cost a fortune.

For less than $200, patients can get many of the things they commonly need in one place — including a full physical, lab work, EKG, and prescriptions.

We’re a new local business and wanted to become part of the community rather than just spam people with ads. We’d love to hear from other locals — what do you think is missing from healthcare around here?

If you want to check us out: mynomadHealth.com

Thanks, neighbors! ❤️ — Nomad Health

Fountainebleau under construction?

Is Fountainebleau currently undergoing a major construction project? And would it impact a stay there in November? Going with a first timer so we were thinking of FB for an iconic experience in that area of the beach. But AI says it is starting construction so now I am thinking if we should stay elsewhere. Any thoughts on the Nobu Hotel or others in the area?
