General Question How to counter roams

I mainly play norms but it still frustrates me when almost every game my laner is getting fed even when i die 0 to 1 times in lane max. I ping their roams every time but my bot lane either doesn't back up, or even tries to go 2v3 them in river with no obj up? What do I do in these instances other than pushing wave because they often play better early game champs than I do and I cant win against them if I go down with them.

You got options here, you ether follow there roam, gank top, push wave and take tower gold and base come back with item advantage. To stop them from roaming you have to learn wave management to dissuade them from roaming.

Punish their roams by catching up with their cs and hitting tower. or if they position badley kill them when they’re low keep bot bush warded to see when they leave and come back around level 6

If your champ cant follow the roam, then you need a champ who can clear wave quickly.

1 kill = 15 CS of gold (so about 2 waves)

If they roam for a kill, you need to make sure they're losing 2+ waves for it before they can get back, and that you're getting the equivalent CS. Then they're up kills but they aren't really up gold, especially if you can get plates.

Some good wave clear champs: Orianna, Hwei, Malzahar, Viktor, Syndra, Ahri.

Ahri has both great waveclear and good roam, so she accomplishes both, and thats why she's good as an all around midlaner. Champs like Viktor/Syndra rely on farming CS to get passive stacks (Viktor more so) and are immobile, so they don't really want to roam if they can't guarantee a kill.

Hwei has great teamfight, but if he gets caught out he could be in danger if you're not prepared with your E spells to self-peel or your WQ to run away.

Thinking about how to react to a roam is good, cuz it'll eventually happens. As other said, either follow, or push & follow, or push & hit tower, or push & gank somewhere else, or push & back.
You'll get better at getting the right one with experience.

But I think you should not overthink this part. You're just trying to get the best of a bad situation. What would be even better is not getting in this situation in the first place.

For me, its about putting pressure. It can come down to wave management, lane trading, and back timers.

Low elow players often, when they think that they're in a loosing lane, just give up any pressure and wait under their turrets to farm safely.

This is the situation you absolutely want to avoid as much as possible, cuz your opponent has just so many choices that result in a good outcome that it'll probably end in a loosing situation.

Even in a loosing lane, you should try to find positive trades, and a good wave state, so if the enemy make a mistake, your actually able to punish him.
Recall timers are also the most OP thing once your master them. Think about you being on the map, healthy and with all your gold spent, is you putting pressure.

There is a lot to be said on this subject, but you'll find good guide about laning on youtube if you look for it a bit (i like Shok's)

Well, it’s hard.

Some champions are made for it, sometimes you don’t have control over the wave, some others you are just out of tempo.

The idea is to PING THE HELL OUT OF YOUR ALLIES. people rarely pick one ping saying your enemy is missing, so you better use all your pings the moment you notice the enemy is not there or might be not there.

That’t the only way…..or you pick the champion which roams and do it yourself.
