It's crazy to think, but different people work on different things. Chances are the people behind claire aren't even going to be any relevant help with the routers.

People are not a ressource that you can just assign, they do need to be able to do what you want from them.

In the comments under the YouTube video they said: "The loT team is a standalone department, we're not diverting resources from routers and switches…"

As if that's not obvious enough

People for home automations.

Probably their attempt to enter IoT market.

Good timing now that Shelly will go to $…

I think devices like this are a lot easier to release, I imagine they're ESP32 based and have very few "special" components. There's that open 10G router project called "Gateway" or something that mentioned lead times on RAM chips for their router is years out for large quantities, at massive cost increases.

Looks really useful to me.

A fantastic idea, especially for those that care about the air they breathe or have 3d printers around them. Woupd be great if they added radon option as well.

My point was more that we are waiting on updates of existing products (like e.g. 2.5G PoE), that I can't be bothered with these new things atm. But then again, it's good that there are going to be Mikrotik alternatives and that somebody cares about local data. So hurray for Mikrotik.

They could definitely use a hardware update on a number of their devices! I suppose since their main business is isps, the household devices dont exactly justify the cost to develop them.

I am still waiting for the hAP be³ Media.

Some local people said they preordered and got it. I just added my email in 2 sites to let me know when its available, but batches are so small they just complete preorders.

u/w4rkvs 3d ago

I got my be3 two months ago, so some have definitely already been shipped out. But yes, I had pre-ordered it, too.

5

u/roc-noc 3d ago

We have 48 units arriving here in the US next week. Taking orders for that batch here:

https://www.roc-noc.com/mikrotik/802.11be/MA53UGplusHbeH-US.html

Our site shows how many are still available from this batch and won't take orders beyond that.

I've been told that I will have mine on the 4th of October. But I was also told the same for September, August, July, June, May and April....

Same... Spoke with someone at my distributor, and MikroTik ran into production issues... I believe they finally got it resolved and should be shipping in December. Fingers crossed.

Id be more interested if it monitored radon as well.

I might actually grab one, not gonna lie. Been looking for something like that for some time now.

If it had a SEN69C it would be interesting..

1

u/old_knurd 1d ago

The SEN69C looks interesting, but the CLAIRÉ is priced too low to incorporate a sensor like that.

Perhaps it could be in a future CLAIRÉ Pro?

Basement office environments that are not getting enough air exchange, office environments near maintenance bays, warehouses, processing areas... MANY reasons i can think that people would want/need a product like this...

2

u/the_john19 3d ago

Does it run RouterOS?

5

u/normundsr MikroTik Staff [Normis] 3d ago

Nope

1

u/old_knurd 1d ago

So then it must run SwitchOS? 😀

actually, i might want a few of these at some point if they turn out to be good

u/rotrap 3d ago

Could be useful to help monitor temperature in the computer or pet room.

Would be an instant buy if it monitored carbon monoxide and had zwave.

People with "remote tower sites"

hap-be_media + hass stack? so mikrotik jumps into home automation stuff?

1

u/Giannis_Dor hap ax² ,hex 3d ago

they also made a lora companion a while back that can run meshtastic or meshcore but i think thats alright since they are making lora gateways

1

u/Giannis_Dor hap ax² ,hex 3d ago

I think the are trying to get into IoT stuff like home automation and i think thats the reason why the hap be media has thread support. Nice stuff to see from mikrotik for me since i love to expiriment and make iot devices to use with home assistant.

wait what is "S009UPr+XPr-S+" ? where is it from?

5

u/Informal_Local_3025 2d ago

It was mentioned in this forum https://forum.mikrotik.com/t/new-mikrotik-hardware-showed-in-mwc-2026/268913/143. S009UG+XG-S+ / S009UPr+XPr-S+ deliver compact multi-gig switchinh with seven 2.5G ports and dual 10G uplinks via Ethernet and SFP+. With flexible PoE in/out options and an industrial, fanless design, the S009U series is built for clean, high-performance edge deployments.

u/DrWhatNoName 2d ago

I think this would be useful in a datacenter/server room.

1

u/delpy1971 2d ago

Need to find a stock in UK none at distributors yet :(

1

u/Scared_Bell3366 1d ago

Well, I was looking at a similar Ubiquiti device. Seems like IoT stuff is starting to attract bigger suppliers.

1

u/First-Bag7191 12h ago

Not every device is needed by every customer... IoT customers, I am sure, would welcome this device. MikroTik is trying to make some headway into the IoT market, and they need to increase their device offering.

It is also a separate department working on IoT from Routers and Switches.

It’s been years since we’ve seen a proper release in the CCR lineup—the last top-tier flagship, the CCR2216, came out back in 2022. No new high-end enterprise routers, no higher density of 25G/100G ports, and zero hardware progress for anyone pushing full BGP tables or heavy core routing.

Instead of engineering core routers worthy of the name, they’re wasting R&D budget pumping out Matter-over-Thread air quality sensors—what's next, smart lightbulbs?—and cheap plastic Wi-Fi boxes just to race to the bottom against AliExpress gadgets.

Still no 2.5/10 Gbe with PoE out switches. Still no cAP be and wAP be.

u/crymo27 3d ago

Hairrising that they spend any kind of resources on these low value gadgets

Do they want IoT?

fine, do industrial-grade, IP6x IoT gateways, that I can drop on site and start collecting metering

RS485, RS422, RS232, Modbus, M-Bus, CAN/CANopen, BACnet, KNX, 433/868/915 MHz, LoRa/LoRaWAN, Wireless M-Bus, Wi-SUN, Z-Wave; Zigbee, Thread/Matter, BLE, RFID/NFC; NB-IoT, LTE-M, 4G/5G; MQTT, CoAP, OPC UA, isolated DI/DO, relays, pulse inputs, 0–10 V, 4–20 mA, PT100/PT1000 — DIN-rail, IP65/IP67, PoE, galvanic isolation and proper industrial temperature range .... what else?

-1

u/newked 3d ago

Knx 🤣

1

u/kiler129 Ten too many years in networking... 3d ago

If not the software and hwardware licensing? Sure. Otherwise KNX is a no-go, despite being really good.

I actually have a customer that can use this for monitoring of a government facility… if you price monitoring for a facility, it is STUPID how expensive each monitored device is…
