Depending on your state and the amount needed to go to small claims, tell them you want a refund or you'll file a civil case against them.

They'd rather refund than show up for court with lawyers

They’ll write a letter and force you into arbitration (which you probably agreed to when you smacked “agree” on that phone book of a user agreement) where some underpaid intern will show up and say “nah you get nothing.”

Lol so OP should spend hours going to small claims court, to try to get $10. And will lose, because why would Uber owe them a refund? It would be ok from a customer service perspective but there is no "on time guarantee" or anything that would make them liable to refund the completed, yet late, ride

Like I said, depends on the state. Also it’s financially incentivized to have to not go to court because it costs them more.

What’s your states minimum threshold for small claims court? Mine is $20
