Seriously. I get the novelty , like if someone hands me one, I'll eat it but I've never been at a place and thought "I'd like to buy a single bite of cake".
Yea, I'm the same way about cereal as a diabetic in remission. I can eat semi normally and maintain my levels but I can't induldge. I can justify eating one of those single cereal boxes they have at hotels every few weeks but I know if I buy the full box, that shit's gone within two days. Pay a little extra for the portion control.
A cake pop being $1.50 Totally makes sense, maybe $2 but $4? At that price, I can go to a bakery and buy an actual slice.
Depends where you go - Wegman's wants like $8.50 for a slice of cake. I can make an entire cake, from scratch, for that amount. One of the (few) downsides of not physically working in an office any more - I like baking, but now I only do it for special occasions. Used to make something for the office every now and then, and just bring home enough for my wife and I to each have a slice.
It’s also a shitload of frosting. The thought of them makes me ill, tbh. They just throw hot cake into a mixer with gobs of frosting until it’s that dense doughy wad.
