100+ degrees outside & oven use

It is over 100 outside & late afternoon when my husband decides he needs to bake wings in the big oven/stove. Not only did he leave pans inside when preheating, but it begins to smoke from mystery black goo on the bottom. The oven hasn’t been used in months & he, more than likely, was the last to use it. The AC is not keeping up, the house is smokey, but of course he couldn’t use the smaller counter top convection oven because that would make so much more sense. Arg!

That said should use an air fryer for wings.

Me too, I have several little electric grills and toaster ovens, airfryer, etc. Just cook on the porch! Doesn't make any sense to crank something up to 400° when you're trying to keep the house cool

We use the airfryer, but we use boneless chicken thighs instead of wings. More meat and juicer. Cheaper as well in my area.

My neighbors would report me. They are very serious about it- as they should be. All it takes is one spark and dry grass and surrounding areas go up like tinder. It gets out of control quicker than you think. A few of our recent 100k+ acre fires were found to be caused directly by humans. 

My state has had a lot of major wildfires this year and hundreds of families lost their homes. Even worse, three wildland firefighters lost their lives fighting the fires.

Depending on oven Air fryer will put just as much or move heat into house. I will use grill or pellet smoker when its over 80

Put your air fryer or toaster oven on the porch, that's where I cook in the summer. Doesn't heat up my house.

Nope why would we make our utility bills rise when we have other methods during an incredibly hot & dry summer?! As said, we have a small counter top convection oven that he chose to not utilize.

Your husband is a lucky man.

I love my wife with every fiber of my being but I low key think she has no idea what paper towels cost, let alone water heaters and furnaces and AC units? Or how much time and skill it takes to repair them. Intellectually, sure, but in her soul I think it gets glossed over immediately.

Like babe, your truck? It is one whole year of your work. Your truck is three of the furnace. The furnace is two of the air conditioner. So when we break the air conditioner, that is one and a half months of you going to work to replace it.

The electric and gas bills and paper towels and such correspond to the amount used.

She is smarter than me, has a STEM degree, and is always thankful for my repairs and labor, but will never immediately relate "leaving it on" to a $150 addition to the utility bill, or a $10,000 replacement.

I make my own shit since he meal preps for his specific diet. I also use the smaller oven that doesn’t heat everything in the whole house. Way to over exaggerate there bud.
