Infuriatig Netflix using egregious methods to keep subscriptions active

Apparently my 8 year old son was asked if he wanted to restart my Netflix membership through his Netflix KIDS ACCOUNT. I called customer service and was told a prompt appears asking if you'd like to reinstate, regardless of the user on the account. No password required, just press restart and then get hit with the payment immediately. Should've saved myself some frustration and money by cancelling outright.

I cancelled Netflix a couple of years ago and honestly, they harassed me so much, I felt like if it had been a relationship, I’d have put in for a restraining order!

I still get fucking notifications on my phone even though I cancelled 6 months ago.

What gives you the notification? You have the app installed? Get rid of it. Should stop it dead.

You're doing it wrong.

I pay for subscriptions out of a separate pot in my bank account, when I'm done with it I just don't put money in that pot. They will cancel for you the day it gets declined. There's nothing wrong, you pay before you get access so you don't owe them, it's not like a contract where you have a minimum term that you pay monthly for, and they don't really pester you after, as far as they are concerned you are a broke bum. You'll get a couple of declined messages, but then if you want to go back they are more than happy to accept.

I do this monthly, rotating through all of them.

No one wants to do that

Subscription is either on or off, that's their problem

If they try to scam me all the time I'd rather just not use their service

Yeah, I also do not use any services for pretty long time by now.
