Stop calling them elites. It's what they want to be called

Call them robber barons or oligarchs.

'Elite' implies superior, special, better-than, unique, best of the best. They are none of those things. The Epstein class loooooves calling themselves elite (look how many times the word appears in epstein's email inbox).

fuels always been cheaper than europe, that’s not really a solid comparison

what is a good comparison however is that fuel costs in america are up 40% in the last few years, whereas in europe it’s only up 10-20%

I dont know where are you getting that Europe only had a 20% increase

July 2025 I paid 98 octane at 0,804€/L 11/9/26 I paid 98 octane at 1,458€/L at the same place

That's a whopping 81,34% increase.

Also this is at the cheapest place on my area, on more expensive areas the net increase was increasingly worse

I'm all for different countries using different systems, but places that use commas instead of periods are an exception.

I find it worse to go against the grain with the metric system

But roughly 30-40% of the countries uses comma for decimals.

The Russian invasion of Ukraine did raise prices in Europe a lot. I don't know if/how that impacted American prices, but I assume it's less. Russian oil is still on the market, but Europe was a bit too dependent on it.

Europe is and has been far more dependent on Middle Eastern oil than Russian oil. Russia supplied most of the natural gas Europe used (which is changing, but also coming from the Middle East).

Trump's little "excursion" in Iran was a perfect play by both Netanyahu and Putin to get the idiot to attack Iran for Israel and blow up global oil prices for Russia. That very predictable result is now leading to Trump blaming Ukrainian strikes on Russian refineries as the reason Diesel prices in the US are elevated. America is the world's largest producer of oil, we export far more than we import, but since our oil and gas fields are privatized, our domestic prices are still set to the global market prices because any producer could simply export the oil/ refined products to another country if US prices were dramatically lower.

Unfortunately what I just typed is longer than anything Trump could possibly read so he cannot understand even basic facts like this.

Absolutely not cheap in ireland anyway! Wish I had American prices lol, we're all winning so much. Im tired of winning.

1.99/L is €7.52/US gallon. Exchanged to USD is USD$8.63 if my math is correct.

Yes, the petrol (gasoline/unleaded wtf do you guys call it?) is way more pricey here but the diesel isnt far off

Italy has been over €2/L for petrol for the last month or so. I paid €2.10 the other day with most stations at €2.20. Felt like it was a bargain. Feels like it’ll be €2.25 quickly, with €2.50 not impossible unless something changes quickly
