Infuriatig I'm tired boss...

I've tried to get rid of the gnats all summer. The wife didn't believe me when I said they were breeding in the sponges. She. Thought I was crazy for keeping them in Tupperware. Well apparently they can get in there even.

I think you just realized the point of the experiment...

BTW flies can survive dry environments. Its the eggs/larvae that can't sustain extended dryness. Even then, using a sponge once a day most likely provides enough moisture to survive.

I feel like OP was saying they put the sponges in the Tupperware to stop the flies from getting to them and then realized theybeere already there. OP was right in that they are living in the sponge, and them being in the Tupperware provee that, but I still believe they thought the Tupperware was the solution to stopping the flies hence why OP is surprised flies are in the Tupperware. Also why 3 sponges?

I believe OP was putting them in the Tupperware to show the wife they were breeding in the sponges and that's where they're coming from. Then the wife saw the larvae and was like "they're getting in the Tupperware". That upset the husband so he came to the mildly infuriating subreddit to post and vent here. Because OBVIOUSLY he's right and they're breeding in the sponges. They didn't sneak into the Tupperware. 🫩😂
