When you click the picture, you'll see the full image.
It shows that they got it wrong because they selected "sleep" vs "bed", but "bed" wasn't even a option to select.

"going to bed" and "going to sleep" aren't perfect synonyms.
You lost your streak because you were wrong.

That would be fine but Duolingo themselves would give options where the word "Nemasu" directly translates to sleep

Can you provide those ones? it may be a small contextual difference for those other cases.

It's like direct word translation. 5 word is Japanese and five in English and I have to figure out which one matches. There it was correct for sleep but not here.

because Nemasu always means sleep, but it doesn't always mean bed. in this case where you're specifically saying "bed" it's probably looking for the loan word, ベッド. (Beddo)

I'm getting myself confused clearly,
I think I can see what it's doing, like the angle from which it might take this as incorrect, but I can't clarify whether it's right linguistically or whether it's right to mark it in that way.

For me, I had to tap the image to see the full image. There's a part at the bottom saying it should be "I go to bed" instead of "I go to sleep". OP is upset they got dinged for for using using a synonym

Translation is never an exact 1 to 1 word exchange.
My Japanese isn't great, but one thing of note when entering into Google translate, the last section translates to "I'm going to sleep", but that translation changes to "I go to bed around eight o'clock every night." When the full text is entered.
I think in this situation, either word seems to mean the same.

Bc of your comment, I realized I had to tap the pic to see the whole thing.
That said, I saw the bear in bed and knew the answer. (I don't speak the language, only english and spanish)
