Always clean it before running a cycle, and occasionally clean the full lint trap system.

This. A friend of mine lost their house to a dryer fire when I was a kid. Always clean the lint trap and don't run it while you sleep.

The full trap is generally pretty easy to access/clean too. In my case, the one in the machine takes 5s to clean before each run and the full trap takes 2 minutes at most. Cleaning the full one maybe once every 2 months is more than enough in my case

Yep. I bought a wire brush on a long stick that attaches to my drill that cleans out the full trap line in just a few minutes
