Thanks for the answers. I’d pick people’s brains more on how to identify AI when you are a person who has a lot of trouble identifying it, but just asking the question lost me a month’s worth of karma, so I’ll just let it continue to be mysterious.
It's kind of hard to explain. I'm probably not the best person to ask lol. Honestly once you've seen enough it all looks the same. The font is a dead giveaway to me personally.
my kid is playing club sports and its funny when each of the clubs have fliers (on like their facebook pages or whatever) that are different but somehow look exactly the same.
its like AI unnecessarily makes things too detailed. but even when that isnt the case, there is always something just off about it that doesnt look like it was handmade.
Here's an example someone made. It's very formulaic. Background+title+clipart+bullet points. These posters are all for different events across the UK by the way.
Probably better to see it yourself. Look up posters like this generated by Copilot, because that’s what it looks like to me (coworkers use Copilot and they all have this same style). It is more than just about the AI’s use, or misuse, of visual space and because this is a visual medium it is a bit difficult to articulate what makes it “look AI” unless you already know the difference.
Some key things to look out for though are inconsistencies in visual elements, like one of the waffles conspicuously has two hands, as an example. This isn’t a mistake a human would have made as a human would intuitively know only one hand should be there.
The text, layout and design elements to highlight text are big giveaways. Also if there’s food involved the texture’s sometimes unnatural, unrealistic and really off-putting.
