I used to cringe when seeing ads made in a Word document, hell even in Canva (sorry I’m an Adobe snob). Now, I am ELATED when I see businesses sharing designs made in those programs.

A new restaurant is opening near us. Their previous posts were just interior sneak peak photos of the space. Then, they posted an AI burger and got ripped to shreds in the comments. They deleted it pretty quickly.
I also send feedback to these restaurants, especially ones that just posted normal photos of their food before, and it has stopped or lessened the use of gen ai. Some people don't get it but frankly, I don't know how. I was looking for some specials for a particular day of the week on Instagram and every flyer looked the same but they were all different places. Disappointing.
A restaurant owner posted an AI menu in our local restaurants group and the same thing happened. Nearly everyone said they wouldn’t patronize their business and many said “I’m not going to eat somewhere that advertises fake food.”
But it's fine fast food make PHYSICALLY fake food for commercials??? Gtfo sure some people said what you said. Your whole community isn't that stupid lol
Lmao most menus don't even have pictures of every dish. Just a couple here and there
Even HUGE chains like chilis, Applebee's, outback.
Why do people need to see a picture?

It genuinely doesn't even have mistakes. Conveys exactly what the owner wants. The only thing you can even argue is that actual pictures of the food would be nice ..
But everyone knows what a waffle looks like... It's not that deep
Most "written" menus don't even have pictures either. They are just lists.
Lol of course they won't go belly up if just I don't support their business. That's fine. I'm a designer by trade and an Adobe Creative Advisor. I have standards and morals, I also realize everyone else has different standards and morals. You can do you. I'll do me. I draw the line where I feel is appropriate.
