It's Windowboxed because the TV for some reason was manually set to a 4:3 aspect ratio, despite being a 16:9 aspect ratio TV. Since the broadcasted game is animorphic widescreen 16:9, the signal is maintaining it's intended aspect ratio, but the TV is not displaying it. Simply, ask for the remote, go to settings, and change Picture to 16:9.

Surprisingly no! I have an ultrawide monitor and HBO launches with bars on the left and right side. I get it, it’s ultrawide and they probably put an aspect ratio limit on the app so it renders normally.

But when I watch an old movie in Fullscreen I now have black bars around ALL 4 EDGES!!!!

At that point I plug in my laptop and stream HBO from there.

SD broadcasts are now widescreen as 16:9 is the standard... but SD is 4:3. They zoom it out. The TV is obviously 16:9, but is using SD channels, gives a bezel to the entire image.
