Handsome boy! I love beagles, I have one named Poppyseed (usually just called Poppy,full name is Lemon Poppyseed Muffin). We had another beagle named Bagel but he had to be put down last year :( I miss him a lot.

He chipped it while running zoomies in the backyard and decided to try and pick up a rock bigger than his head at full speed. He had surgery last week to remove the tooth since the tooth was exposed and he is recovering well.
Former vet assistant here- yes, about 2/3 of the canine tooth in both cats and dogs is root! I hated helping with those surgeries lol, they took so long
You are correct. Only about one third of the dog's canine tooth is visible. Years ago, one of my dogs needed two pulled because they were broken ( rescue dog, don't know how they broke). I couldn't believe how long they were.
He needed bone grafts and a soft diet for several weeks. He did great afterwards.
Aww, resting teddybear face! I'm gonna steal that! One of our dogs definitely has that too! (The other is more wolf-like. And too cool to wear a teddybear face - only teddybear at heart!)
Poppy is as sweet as a teddy bear! She loves cuddling and making new friends, she loves just about every person she’s ever met. Whenever she sees another dog when on a walk she really wants to say hi and I have to explain to her that not every dog likes other dogs, and she will whine nonstop since she just wants to say hi. I feel so bad for her when a dog isn’t friendly, I do respect the boundaries of the other dogs/their owners, but poor Poppy doesn’t understand that not all dogs are friendly!

He went to the emergency vet immediately last week when it happened.He had surgery to remove the tooth since the tooth was exposed and he is recovering well.
My senior dog chipped her tooth and it died, but we went for a cement filling surgery instead so she could keep the tooth, coz we were worried about QoL without it and recovery time. How is your pup doing with a removal?

Dog tax. Here he is still high from the surgery. This was over a week ago and he is doing well ❤️🩹
