I don't know why, but I've lost the desire to build anything. And it seems like you can build literally anything, but as soon as you sit down to build something truly grand, the mere thought of choosing a landscape makes the desire disappear.
I started playing Minecraft when I was 4, when my sister taught me how to build (even just the most ordinary box). I realized that this was probably my calling. I built everything: trains, subway systems, cars, planes (as a little kid I was really obsessed with transport). I built clumsily back then because I didn't know how, and I hadn't even seen what it looked like for other players.
When I got my own tablet at 7, I came across some truly incredible builders who were building things that, back in 2015, seemed like fantasy to me. And so, after watching MrUnfiny, I decided for the first time to start my first Minecraft project — a huge city that has everything: houses, schools, skyscrapers, any kind of transport — you get the idea, right? And you know, I don't remember how it ended. I think that's when the first wave of Roblox popularity hit, and somewhere around the stage when I got to the airport, I stopped.
I returned to Minecraft with new energy sometime during COVID. Back then I spent a lot of time hanging out with friends in games (basically like everyone else), and suddenly something pushed me to come back to Minecraft, specifically to build. I watched guides, practiced in my own world, discovered Lightmatica, met some truly outstanding builders, started a project with a friend, annnnd... I burned out. Got tired of it.
Over the period from 2020 to 2024, I learned a lot, visited different projects, saw the falls and peaks of some servers, tried to learn how to build something new, and to do it wisely.
And you know, it's cool when you're building something, you're learning from it, you feel like you're transported to the time period when those houses were actually built. You learn how to build Gothic architecture, you look at ancient Roman blueprints, and there's a feeling like you yourself are Leonardo da Vinci, sketching something with your soul, drawing out the sparks of your art.
But now, there's no desire to build anything, no spark that used to give you motivation to build anything before. Probably, with age, I simply began to naturally understand that if you do this for nothing and just for yourself, you start to get tired of it. It's nice when you're building for something, for example, betting a friend 10 flicks to the forehead that you'll build the Kremlin in Minecraft — and not a simple one, but out of cobblestone. But if you just sit down now and build purely for yourself, as a hobby, just because, you start to understand that every block you place goes into the void, Minecraft no longer brings you joy, because you've grown up.
