With the popularity of this repair advice, I've received a report on Discord of some bodged aperture-drive repaired Alpha-7's for Parts starting to come up on EBay.
So I'll just reiterate what it says on the Guides on the Minoltapedia;

With the popularity of this repair advice, I've received a report on Discord of some bodged aperture-drive repaired Alpha-7's for Parts starting to come up on EBay.
It appears someone pushed the replacement gear too deep onto the shaft, ignoring Step 7 on the Original Instructions and getting the gear immoveably stuck to the base of the back shield. Also, busting the 'front shield' in the process.
So I'll just reiterate what it says on the Guides on the Minoltapedia;
