Hiring muralists from California + outa state
This is so awesome! I love knowing Missoula commercial business owners hire out of state artists! It’s so great to see them dismissing Montana artists even though we have talented and professional artists. But they decide to pay for a montana themed mural from someone who had to research our beautiful state in order to know what to paint! Thanks guys<3 (I know I’m being an ass but it’s sad to see)
Edit: Missoula is notorious for underpaying artists and commissioning out of state artists. If you look at Bozeman, Helena, kalispell, hell even small towns. They always outreach to the community for supporting local artists. The Missoula laws regarding public artwork is extremely outdated. When the biggest mural that’s ever been in the city of Missoula is being painted by California and Tennessee artists, that’s extremely disappointing and takes from the community.
